This is a very nice idea. But, I supposed that even the group members are allowed to participate. but, yes I think so that it will be right for them, not to participate beacuse, it may cause trouble later.
Anyways, can u collaborate me in this contest also? -
This is a great idea but if I were to choose an option and go away to write, when it comes to posting time some one may well have beaten me to it.
-
You go ahead, and write.
Tell me which title you want. I'll reserve it for you, for a few hours.
-
What makes an ode, an ode?
-
LOL Nice Query. A Tribute to anything is an ode.
-
...Nah. I've got to be away for a bit.
Maybe next time ^_^ -
What was the final verdit, can group members participate??
-
No.
-
Udit, I'm going to be taking a two week college class starting next week. This Saturday (the 20th) will be my last day. Meaning as much as I would love to help judge this contest, I will not be on until 2 weeks after it has been judged. Sorry
--Tim -
Great contest Udit!!!!
I love it!! I will do my best and try to comment on as much entries as I can.
Keep up the good work
~Hana~ -
Why do you want each entrant to take a different subject? It would make judging far easier (and fairer) if everyone had the same topic!
-
I must say, this does seem like a fascinating subject...yeah, I'll enter... warning... most of my right of the top of the head poetry usually needs a lot of work!
-
Very interesting contest, but not something I could ever come up with something for. I'll leave this to the older and wiser poets!
Amanda -
i once wrote an ode... never again!! it took a long time... well maybe I might do another one... can't i just enter the one i already did?!
-
Hey, this is an awesome poem idea...I have a poem called "An ode to salvation" and was wondering if I could enter it here...Anywho...good luck to everyone!
-
ohhhh... just read the examples... mine was a stupidly complex Keats style ode... those look simpler... might have a go! anyone know which ones (if any) have been taken?
-
Wow, I may just do one called, Ode to an ode to contests. God knows how i would get a decent poem out of that but I may give it a shot.
-
I clicked wisely but I'm not sure what I want to write an ode to yet so I will enter this after I figure it out.
-
I have removed myself as a collaborator of this contest, TRS.
--Tim -
Hey, nice contest idea!
lol
I'm taking imagination
-
Hi Auron,
This is the risen sun. Just want to tell you that age is no measure for greatness. I am only 18 too. Thus, your poetry will be better understood by me.
-
it seems to be quite interesting.
-
Well then, why don't you enter?
-
Looks like a wonderful contest and I will be back to enter. I am impressed by your statement about fairness, which is something that is lacking in many of the contest around here!
-
seems like a great contest i will think about entering it
-
An interesting concept, I will go away and work on something for this,...
-
An ode doesn't always have to be a nice thing does it? I'm on the dark side of things and don't really go well with goody odes. So if I can do a dark write, I will enter.

Looks interesting. I will be back. I suppose this should be an actual ode, and not just words put together, right? And, you plan on commenting on each entry, correct? Just checking.
-
Very nice idea for this contest!
i will try and think of something if i can.But anyway nice idea! have fun judging!
God Bless,
OnlyInMyDreams -
Of course.
-
Go ahead. It's your poem.
-
Thanks for the inspiration from this contest. I am going to try to re-write/edit an earlier poem to more adequately fit "an ode to the Mother's Womb."
-
Another great idea for a contest. Nice to host some too. Think I am ready to do that again as well. GOo dluck - some good entries so far.
-
This is a good contest idea, but instead of saying "these are your options" you should say "here are some suggestions"
I think having a list of things is kind of annoying, if it is like YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF THESE IF YOU ENTER, but if it means "Here are some suggestions" then it seems more like the contestants have more freedom and flexibility to enter.
I know that's what you want, poems with one of those listed, and they are great ideas. I just think those should be suggestions not mandatory selections if a person enters the contest.
-Tyler -
How many can we enter?
-
I wrote the poem and then I see that The group members cannot enter
-
Dear Risen Sun I have a prewrite "An Ocean's Ode To Her Lover".Would be nice if it can be considered.
-
I love the idea of this contest and the clever options you've given. I always feel that an ode should be traditional and rhyme... two things I'm nto too good at. may have a bash anyway, always loved a challenge
-
is it allowed to propose a second poem, if a first one is already here?
-
Awesome idea!!! I am glad you dont have to be a member of the group and I love the idea of collabrative judging, although it seriously decreases my chances of winning, I still think its a great idea!!!
♥ Linzi -
Don't worry about that. They are just our sponsors. Judging will be done by me.
-
I will allow pre-writes soon. Stay tuned!
-
I wish to thank you so much for the bronze trophy and the generous gift of 1OO points for my poem "an ode to the deepest ocean". I am happy that it has touched your hearts ...
with gratitude,
marion
