Write A Song Collaboration
Lyrics are always poems. Here's a chance for you to write a song, if you haven't already. Novice or Pro, you are welcome to enter this contest.
You need to have at least one buddy to co-write with you. Two or more writers are required for all entries. You can recruit a co-writer and co-write over the net. This is what I had in mind.
The First place winner will get 300 points and that song will be recorded. Second and Third places will be noted as normal.

I think it is the first and is very cool. If you love and write music only stands to reason you'd run a music contest plus there are two music groups on AllPoetry. I hope white7 knight gets some good serious entries.

I will not enter the songwriters contest, but I hope to collaborate with some later. I prefer co-writing to writing alone. I am a singer/songwriter. This is for fun, and to expand the music of myself and Allpoetry. Andy

It seems Acid Cool and Hateablecoco110 wrote the first entry together. That makes it currently the only qualified entry. Not encouraging.

This is a good idea for a contest, though I'm a little too hidebound today to consider entering it myself.
I know there are many songwriters here who are likely to enter.

Hi. Those who don't have someone to collaborate with could choose someone else that has left a comment on here saying he/she doesn't have someone to collaborate with... I noticed Malishez needs someone to collaborate with too. You can just click on your comment to return to contest and then click on commenters' name who commented about not having anybody to collaborate with and visit their author page. Or send an IM to suggest collaborating together.

PV and I were supposed to do one of these a while back, but it's one of the worst times of the year for him now, and I'm not feeling too creative anyway these days. I'll be anxious though to see the entries. Another good site to add to the one that YesYouCan mentioned is www.poetry.com

No problem, Wolfy. I can't enter because I don't think it is allowed, I would be bias, and it wouldn't be fair. There is no limit to entries in this one. I could live to regret that statement.

In my contest, a co-writer is required. Membership in AP is desired, not required for co-writer.

The idea was to encourage writers to work together. There are a multitude of contests for those who wish to write alone.
