welcome to another DARK contest! my 27th on this site!
trying to bring yet another different contest. i know this has been done in different variations in the past. so the idea may not be totally original. yet what i attempt to do will be time consuming for me once the grand prize winner is selected. see there are four awards in this contest and are as follows:
grand prize - to read up to 100 poems (of my choice if a poet has more than a 100) of a single poet and comment with applauding each one (potential 700 points)
1st place - gold trophy
2nd place - silver trophy
3rd place - bronze trophy
i will not be going to your page to check to see how many poems you have. if you are the winner and have 16 or a 1,000...i will comment on every one of them up to 100 with applause for each. it will be the following weekend, after the contest closes, to ensure that i can ensure i have the time to devote to the winner. i will comment throughout the weekend until my obligation is met. i will inturn include the list of poems (that the comments were made) along with the poet in the body of this contest.
all you need to do to enter is follow the rules and come up with a creative poem/story why you are to be selected for the grand prize!
if you have any questions concerning this contest, please make them as a comment to this contest and i will answer in a reply. this should be done in case others have the same question.
guess itz time for some rules.
1. no pre-writes (if i did this, it wouldn't be a personal invitation to a contest from theDARK1).
2. one entry per poet.
3. any style/any form (length is not a problem...do what you want to do and how you want to do it...as long as you comply with the other rules too).
4. you must meet the requirement as listed in the body of the contest.
5. closing date will be determined by me and will end one day in january 2005 (for i just started a contest that will require much time to host). note: if you procrastinate you may end up watching as i will close this contest at my leisure of the dates specified to ensure i am the JUDGE of my contest!
6. i will comment on every entry (it could be during or after the contest closes for judging).
as itz always my custom to wish everyone luck here as i will not do it in the comments to your writes!
shadowedone: grand prize - will read 100 poems (of my choice if a poet has more than a 100) of her work and comment with applauding each one (for a total of 700 points). each poem will be identified below once comments and applause are made.

That's alot of reading and commenting. Better you than me. I don't think I could do it. Good luck with judging your contest!

my goodness, that is a lot of work! Am I to understand that you want the subject to be 'why we should be selected for the grand prize'? that is what our poem should be about? Good luck with all the work you are putting into this contest.

mary6, you're right on track with your assumption/understanding. the one that comes closest and is the most creative will more than likely be the grand prize winner. if that person has over 100 poems, then they get 700 points worth of applause and my comments (not so sure they will welcome those, but the points and applause they should). thanks for the interest, DARK.

This is a very creative idea, as always, but I feel sorry for your eyes when you get done. I think you may be filled with inspiration, have some really good laughs and maybe even cry after reading all those poems but you will probably also need glasses to correct your eyes sight as well. Good luck to you in this contest! Well I'm on way to the other one then I will think about this one.

Yay!!
Thank you very much for awarding me the gold trophy! The first on my shelf, and don't it look gorgeous?
Thanks for your comment, too
