Bonjour Guys and Gals!
This contest is about the power of a glance.
You may write about anything you wish involving a look, a glance, or a brush of fait (these are only examples, not parameters)
There are only a few rules:
1. There may not be more than 20 lines in your work of genius
2. NO RHYMING-notice I selected "contemporary" to describe the contest. (I will be pretty strict about this. Rhyming for effect is okay, but not more than twice please)
3. Your poem must be passionate- I don't want to have to take a power nap in the middle of reading the entries
4. Only two entries per person please
5. Prewrites are allowed as long as they are less than 20 lines
6. Have a jolly time!
hint: if you get absolutely stuck, try incorporating definitions(in your own words (of course, plagiarism is illegal *smile* )). Ex. the def. of "stare" or "grimace"
If you are at all unclear about anything relating to this contest, feel free to IM me, I usually login a couple times a day.
(I WOULD LIKE TO STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO BE JUDGED, YOUR POEM MUST FOLLOW *ALL* RULES! I HAVE ALREADY HAD ABOUT FIVE ENTRIES THAT EXCEED THE "20 LINES MAXIMUM" RULE. AGAIN, IF YOUR POEM IS MORE THAN 20 LINES, IT *WILL NOT BE JUDGED!* )
Good luck and think passionate glances!
