**Mentors**
First things first, I want to thank you all for joining and being so selflessly involved with this teens life. Most of us have been there before, where life seems so confusing and you just want to talk to someone.
Due to the generous people on this site and their donations I'm able to start this contest for you.
This isn't mandatory, but Id like to read whats going through your mind.
What I'm looking for is simple- I want a poem(duh) telling me what how you've grown or what you've learned from being a mentor. Or, a poem to your teen, letting them know you're human as well.
Rules
1) No cussing (distasteful)
2) No prewrites
3) In your author comments tell me who your teen is.
4) Enjoy yourself :-D
**Any donation made wont go unnoticed**
This is a contest for the Teen Depression Mentors I will be checking and I wont hesitate to delete any poems that don't fit.

This is a good idea. It will at least tell if we're doing okay with our teens or not. Hugs, Patricia

I have started being on the site a lot again. So before I enter this contest, I have to first get to know my teens.
-
whats a mentor?
-
What is a mentor? A mentor is someone who signed up to help a fellow poet on this site.

Dear AVoiceWithin
Im sorry about your teen situation, if youd like to help me judge then drop me a line and we can work something out.
-
definitely. Im in the program I just havent been assigned a poet..so Id love to help judge.
-
Well then its set. Thanks for your help and if you happen to get assigned a teen then feel free to enter alright?
-
The whole "assign a teen" thing is awesome- I never knew about it...I'm 19 though, so that's kinda an awkward age...little old to be assigned, aren't I? How does this whole thing work anyway?
-
I'll defenitly enter this! I'm done with writing tonight though so I'll enter it tomorow.
-
My teen has just started to come again so I haven't had a chance to mentor yet but i will try to enter by the deadline.
-
Meh, I'm dying to enter but I've been so busy... will try to scribble something out tonight!
Goodstuff!

yay I get to read what goes through mentors mind. Should be instresting.
-
i have tried and tried to write a poem for this contest and cannot. My day job is as a mentor in a high school ~ so i guess it's my life ~ this has really made me think and reflect on my role and job but i cannot share myself in the form of poetry .. it just wont come ~ so if i write anything it will be a story i think ... even that is hard ~ there are so many remarkably brave and sad young people I have worked with over time that have touched my heart i cannot single one out ... and somehow i just can't generalise either
Good luck with the contest

Thank you so much for this wonderful gift. I am deeply touched by this gesture. I shall be returning the points, perhaps you can put them to good use? A teen maybe to promote their work?. Many thanks once again, and many congratulations to all other entries. They were superb
