Picture It! Number Two

Ok, this is the second Picture It! contest. The first one went well, so take a chance and let your creative juices flow!

General, Obvious Rules
1. No TyPiNg LiKe ThIs...nothing I hate more.
2. No sexism, racism, etc.
3. Keep foul language to a minimum
4. No erotica
5. No suicide, cutting, violence, etc.

More to the Point Rules
1. Write a poem about the above photograph
2. The poem has to be AT LEAST 20 lines long
3. Put yourself in the poem, but not in a negative light
4. You can enter more than once, but no more than three times.

Some Facts About the Photo in Case You Need Them
1. It's an original...this is only being said because it IS NOT PUBLIC DOMAIN! It is a copyrighted photo. Belongs to me. If you like it that much, I'll sell you a print for real cheap, but don't steal it.
2. It's the edge of a fishing pier.
3. The lake this is on is called Falls Lake, which is located in Creedmoor, NC

That's it. Give it a go. There's 400 points up for grabs for this one, and it is a little tougher than the first. But I have faith. And I hope to see plenty of entries!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 6, 2005
  • Rewards: Gold: 400
  • Final notes:
I am so, SO sorry this took me so long to judge. The entries were amazing, as usual. I know I didn't leave comments on this go through, unfortunetly, and I do apologize for that as well. My work load at the day job sort of exploded into 15 to 18 hour days again, so I was trying to take notes on poems and reading on a few a night. Again, these are wonderful pieces. If you haven't, I suggest you cruise through the entries here and take a look. It's a great read, and very relaxing. I am definetly impressed and humbled by what you all have come up with to match my photography. It made my week!
