Contest For New Allpoetry Members for December 2004
This is our last New Member Contest for 2004 and we hope it will be yet another challenge we can all enjoy.
Christmas and New Year are usually a time for reflection, looking toward the future, remembering both good, bad and indifferent events over the past year and trying to bring forth hope and plans for the new. However, not all of us celebrate Christmas in the same way as each other, so now you have the chance to tell us about YOUR favourite Occasion, religious holiday, birthday celebration the list goes on......
What this contest is about!
We, (the AP Greeters) would like you to write about your Memories not just of this last year but perhaps of Christmas or special celebrations of your past. They can be true or use your imagination. It's not the memory that might win you a trophy it's the poem, prose, or short story whichever way you want to write. Put your heart and soul into it if you like, making it funny, poignant, wherever your Muse takes you. Reading your entry we would like to 'feel' your memory, cry or laugh with you, utter the occasional Ah! as we wipe away a tear perhaps.
Rules Yes sorry there are a few.....
No Pre-writes
Please, make sure your entry fits in with all the Rules or it won't be considered at all, however you will be given the chance to change, delete it and write another that will be accepted.
Nothing shorter than 20 lines, no sTiCkY cApS, SMS terms, erotica or cutting, no mutilation of any type, written in plain old fashioned English is what we want please!
It would also be appreciated if you read other contest entries too, we are after all an interactive poetry site so lets interact!
New Members who join in December ONLY may enter this contest. HOWEVER FOR THIS MONTH there will be two contests running side by side for part of the Month so for December new members only you have 2 chances of entering a contest The other contest is open for ALL members of Allpoetry. For you it's a similar theme but you must enter 2 entirely different poems to each if you decide to enter both.
Before submitting your poem, please ask yourself the following:
· Does your contest entry meet closely with the requirements of the contest?
· Did you spellcheck the poem and check for any grammatical or typographical errors.
· If YOU were judging this contest, would you be able to see how this poem would or would NOT win placement?
Contest will close on December 31st @ Midnight (USA time) and winners will be notified a few days later as judging is a team effort by the whole Greeter team, and due to the holiday season judging may take a day or two longer than usual.
We look forward to reading your entries.
Good Luck and Welcome to Allpoetry.
~~~
Our very best wishes are extended to all for a safe, happy and memorable holiday time filled with many moments of love and contentment.
~~Greeter Team~~
Fits the criteria
It provokes thought. Clean up the errors and I might think more, the small "i's" are distracting. -
Would you like to point out the small 'i's which you find so distracting please?
-
I like it it's a good poem. The 'i's is a little distracting though.
