Here are your choices:
* LOVE* Write anything about the love of your life. I want something that will make me want to sigh with envy at how much you love that whatever it is. I can be anything. A car, a person, a pet, whatever!
*HOPE* Write a piece that can lift my spirits. Something that makes me think, 'Hey, it's going to be okay.' I don't want anything that's about revenge in this category.
*DARK* Think of the most negative thing possible. Whatever it might be. That feeling deep down that you just have to express. Now, I want you to use that dark thought (or feeling) and turn it into a piece that will leave me on the edge of my seat.
*HUMOR* You all know how silly something can sound when it's worded the right way. Now, think up something hilarious and tell me about it. I want everything that will make me laugh. If you manage to make me fall out of my chair, all the more better for you!
*NATURE* For all of you out there that love the great outdoors. Here's your chance. I want something that speaks of the magnificence of the world. I don't want to hear anything about technology or man-made things. Just the most basic things out there. But, yes, you IM me if it's important to add that in there, otherwise your piece will be deleted.
*SPIRITUAL* I know there are tons of people out there that speak about their religious beliefs and all their gods, and deities. Here's where you come in. Explain to me in the greatest detail how your religion works. If you want to be preachy, that's okay too. Just make it sound compelling enough that I want to know about it.
*ADULT, ETC.* If you really must write something in this section, I will read it, but unless I feel it is not extremely offense, I will not accept it. Anything that speaks bias against a group is not acceptable. I don't want things such as rapes or mutilations, etc. /Keep it away from the X ratings./
*HAIKU* I always enjoy a good poem in this. But here's your challenge. I want a poem of haiku, but I want it to be a set of no less than three! That means you have to stay on a subject for three consecutive haikus. That's not three lines, but nine!
* SAD* Make me cry. I want to be drowning in tears in this one. The more emotion here, the better. I don't want any anger in this, just complete sadness and remorse!
*FANTASTY* Finally, I want everything that deals with the unscientific here! Fairies, elves, goblins, vampires, whatever. I want great descriptions and a good story line (or thought). If you don't have a believable piece, I won't finish reading it and I won't accept it.
*OTHER* Whatever you put in this one is good, but I will only accept it if you IM me the reasons it doesn't fit in any of the other categories.
*IMPORTANT*
Now that you know what genre you're writing for, here are the other requirements for all choices except for the HAIKU.
You must use at least one of the following lines. (More than one is good, and can tip the scale in your favor) You may change the punctuation, but line must be complete in words. No altering the tense or anything.
--> Speak of all the thoughts abound.
--> Can you not hear my pleas at night?
--> Angel, you are dead to me.
--> Deeply hued the bloodless light.
--> Hark! Do you hear the blasphemous words?
--> No. I am, am not.
--> Spark, oh, Fae of my deepest heart.
--> Be not a dream of my shallow soul!
--> Ever or not, nor nevermore.
--> Forgotten. I can not journey onward.
--> Go, I shall not tarry long
--> I can not imagine such a thought.
--> Just in peace, I go to rest.
--> Keep my garden, my love, my fate.
--> Look to each their sails unfurl.
--> Mark ye well, my dearest child.
--> Of all the words I say
--> Peace, do not go from mine eyes.
--> Quiet. I wish not to speak.
--> Rage surrender, for I am weak.
--> To you, I must not bend.
--> Under which and not at all.
--> Wait. The evening's call.
Now, then, the rules...
*All rules must be followed*
1.
*StIcKy* *CaPs.* It's hard to read and pointless (in my opinion). If it adds to your piece, just state so in you author comments.
2.
*X**-**Rated* *works.* I do not like it, I will not read it. Simple as that. If you must have scenes with gore and sex, just warn me in your comments, but we forewarned that I do not agree with things that will make my stomach coil. (Which is a little hard to do, but not impossible)
3. *Spell* *check*! I am an English Major and grammar and spelling are very important. I shall try to check out each piece prior to the dead line, but there are no guarantees. If I can't understand the words, you aren't likely to win.
4. *Comment* on at least two of my own works. I have several pieces of all sizes and I want you to read at least two over and leave a comment. Not only can this give you points anyway, it can also aid me to improve my own works as well. Commenting on more may earn brownie points, but there are no guarantees because your work may not be the best I read here.
5. *You* *may* *post* *as* *many* *works* *as* *you* *like*. However, I will only select one to be under review for points. That means that whichever one I think is the best will be the one that I will view for the points. The others may win honorable mentions, but nothing more.
6. *PLEASE* *DO* *NOT* *OVER* *POST*! If all I see are your works, I will delete them all and you will be Disqualified!
*OK*. That's it. Enjoy! Remember, I will answer IMs or Comments on my author page if you so choose to raise a question on something. Otherwise, everything goes!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 7, 2004
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: All right. These are the poets that have fulfilled every requirement and managed to secure a place in my heart for their beautiful knack at poetry. There were a lot of entries, but most did not follow the requirements or turned nasty on me when I requested such. Needless to say, I did not choose any of them. Also, providing that some really does read this, I am posting honorable meantions and the second and third place winners below. If you IM me within a week of this notice, you will receive a personaly decided amount of points from myself. (This is different depending on the poem submitted) Thank you everyone for entering and following the rules!
