Judging:

This contest will reward those who put in the effort needed to win a contest! On top of your poem, I shall be judging the quality of the critiques you put on the poets selected! I aim to reward those who contribute the most to contests. Isn't it frustrating when you write a poem especially for a contest but don't even get commented on when a million prewrites swamp the contest? Where the winner has done no more than click the Submit button, while you, who has done all the things the contest holder asked to, does even get an honourable mention? This contest is different

This contest isn't for the lazy, or for those who can't be bothered to follow the rules! This contest is for those who'd really like to win a contest and earn their prize. The prize for 1st place is 300 points.. how many critiques would you have to write to earn that - more than the 3 I'm requesting you to do I'm sure

What poems can I submit?

This contest is about my favourite topic, being in love! I don't really mind the style of the poem - you can make it short and sweet, it can rhyme or be free verse etc. Please note, the poem should be no more than 20 lines long in length! I will be commenting on all entries but because of how many contest I'm holding, I don't really have the time to read 30 poems of epic length, although i really would like to!

Here are the options:

1. Write a poem about being in love.

2. Write about a break up (happy or sad)

3. Write about wanting to be with someone

4. Married Life..

Simple choices.. make what you will of them! You don't have to state what option number your doing in your author's comments. As long as your poem is clearly about love then it will be included in the final judging (but as long as it follows ALL of the rules, no exceptions sorry). I will comment on all entries! Just make sure you follow the rules!

The prizes are:

1st 300 points
2nd shiny trophy + 10 critiques on your poetry
3rd shiny trophy + 5 critiques on your poetry
4th  3 critiques on your poetry
5th  3 critiques on your poetry
6th  2 critiques on your poetry

All poems which follow all the rules will be commented on. As a thank you i will comment on another of your poems as a "thank you."

The 10 Commandments a.k.a The Rules

1. Three entries allowed per person. One pre write maximum! The contest will be closed after 35 entries.

2. No sTiCkY cApS

3. Swearing where appropriate is allowed, erotica is allowed as long as it is properly labelled.

4. You MUST use spell check before you post your poem.

5. Poems only sorry (max 20 lines in length): no stories, lyrics etc.

6. Love poems only - please only submit prewrites that are on topic!

7. Comment my poem, Me. I want a discussion and proper critiques! I need to improve my work so i need your honesty here. Good job.. i feel the emotion etc isn't really a critique and will be ignored.

8. Comment on the following people's poems! You MUST do this to be entered into the final judging. These people deserve just a little of your time and, believe me, reading and commenting on their poetry will be no chore Please give reasonably sized critiques, not good job etc, as these people would appreciate the time you have put into reading their work

YOU MUST STATE WHICH POEM BY BOTH POETS YOU HAVE COMMENTED ON IN YOUR AUTHORS COMMENTS!

9. If you don't follow ALL the above rules your entry will be disqualified

10. Have fun with it and enjoy yourselves

Finally..

cinnamon-spider also deserves a mention in this contest due to his shameless promotion of my poem Dear Mr President at the cost of 100's of his own points. Thank you so much cinnamon-spider! I hope you get lots of good critiques as a result of this contest

Good luck all to all who enter! These are just some things i would like to share with you while I have all of your attention. You might be interested to know that I have many other contests running at the moment!
