Ko, simple, as the title explains, poems, bout surfin, any kinda poem, anythin to do wit surfin, describe your boards, talk bout your fav surfers, talk bout pipes, bout your best wave, bout your best wipe out, your fave tricks, anythin, though I would prefer either poems bout surfin, or bout an experience while surfin. Poems bout pipes and wipeouts would also be appreciated. if you dont shred, its all good, you could write a poem bout what you think surfin would be like. Just anythin bout surfin, how stoked you were when you shredded a 20 ft monster, anythin, just enter. in your authours comments, say what the largest wave was you surfed. Also, mad props goes too anyone who talks bout shreddin at Imperial Beach (the place I grew up and learned to surf)
Ko four simple rules
1. Prewrites are allowed, cause I believe poetry has to be written when you feel it, not when your asked by a contest, and maybe you felt it earlier
2. No erotica, Talkin bout how you got laid on your board, or anythin along those lines, NO. I will however accept a type of love poem if its bout surfin wit the one you love
3. NO dark shit, NO emo shit, doesnt fit, I want happy experiences, not life changin experiences or hatin of the ocean. Now maybe if you wanted to submit a poem bout how pissed you are at the ocean for givin ya 6 footers, when you had your girl watchin you and you wanted to tear into a 20 ft beast to impress her, thats kewl, but no dark or depressed poems
4. I love the ocean dont get me wrong, but dont submit a poem bout it, I want poems bout surfin, not the ocean.
Ko there are the rules, anyways, go crazy, have fun. First place will get three fifty and a trophy, dont know bout second and third place, will try to work on it. But I do know that each place, I will comment on a number of each writers poem and applaud them. Ko that said, have fun
ONE LAST THOUGHT!!! majour kudos go to anybody, who can really really really make me relate to the feelin of hatin to be landlocked, Im in Vegas now, and I HATE!!!!!! Bein landlocked, so if you can write a poem thats bout bein pissed at bein landlocked and that i can relate too and mad mad props, and somethin else, will go to you
