One-liner fun

I know that I'm really behind in judging, and I'm sorry. I'll judge as soon as I can.

One-liners rock.  I've been under a lot of stress lately, and I'm thinking that one-liners are the cure to my never-ending headache.

Enter something interesting  - I would love to see Humor, maybe something lovey-dovey, something inspirational and meaningful - whatever.

Try to stay away from cliches!

I don't know how I will judge this yet.  I'll probably pick something that sticks in my mind, inspires me, or makes me laugh out loud.

The rules are - you can enter as many times as you want, as long as it is a one-liner, no prewrites (make me feel special), and try not to use poor grammar and chatspeak.

Have fun!

Note: I'm extending this contest because a lot of people didn't want to post anything during the weekend because of the problems with AllPoetry.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 10, 2004
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
I enjoyed all of your guys' one-liners. I read all of them, even though I didn't comment on all. Please don't be angry with me if you didn't get a trophy - I had a tough time picking out the one-liners that I enjoyed most, and I'm sure yours was one of them.

    Have a great day!

It's a great idea, but I've noticed that alot of this are not original in the slightest. Do they have to be your own, or can they be something you heard somewhere?

You get brownie points for being original and coming up with your own. My projection is that the winner will be someone with an original one-liner, but it is not a rule per se.

I have two one-liners that are actually of my own making, unlike the majority of the posts here, but I have them prewritten into a list... You asked for no prewrites but aren't prewrites written by the person entering worth more then those that entered stuff that WASN'T original, speically when you asked us to make you feel special yet most of these other people entered quotes that have been used over and over and are well, cliches now... anyway .. good idea for a contest, hope you can handle all the entries ... buhbye.

P.S. If we were to delete the prewrites and re-write them into you contest page, would you accept it then?

You can enter your prewrites, just as long as you enter them as a new poem into the contest. You don't have to delete anything. When I said "No Prewrites", I meant people couldn't enter one-liners from another contest, because then I'd have all these entries from another contests... You are welcome to enter!

You are very brave not many people would make a contest that would take so many people in and a lot of time to judge.

I'm not worrying too much. It's not that big of a deal, since half of these aren't even original, and I clarified in the rules that I would pick the winners to my personal liking. Not like my previous contests when I had to sweat over each entry

One last one liner from me:
    Quote me on this:

"It ain't over, 'till your brother counts the votes"

Southerners was funny, but it kinda of seemed like maybe it was more than a one-liner. Guess it depends on how long them lines get.
