The group UsedandAbused have decided to do 2 contests back to back.
Our aim is to get people who have not been abused aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse. We know people are not stupid and they think they would know if a child was being abused, but would they? Would you?
THE GROUP PEACECHAIN HAVE DONATED 200 POINTS FOR THIS CONTEST, THEY SUPPORT WHAT WE ARE TRYING TO DO.
saurabh has donated 51 points for this contest. These points plus some others we have will be given to honourable mentions.
cutipie has donated 150 points for this contest, these will be distributed to the person/persons we feel have done the most powerful poem (Not necessarily the winner)
So this is the second of the two contests

This contest is for those that have been abused. You have 2 choices, please don’t just choose choice 2, we need to get through to people.
1)We would like to know what sort of person you are, what affect has the abuse had on you, has it made you stronger? Can you trust more? What has it done to your self esteem? We don’t want ‘it made me cut’ type of poems; we really want to let people know how we feel/felt and why it is important if they suspect a child is being abused to tell someone.
2)What would you say to a child who was being abused? How would you convince them to tell someone, write a poem to an abused child, and convince them to tell someone about the things they are going through. FOR THIS CHOICE, PLEASE DO NOT PUT IT IN THE ABUSE CATEGORY, WE WANT THOSE IT IS AIMED AT TO BE ABLE TO READ IT.
Simple really, we are not going to say have fun because this is not a fun subject, but we are sure it is one that many agree should be faced from time to time. If we can make at least 10 people aware of the signs and symptoms of abuse, it is 10 more children we can save.
We want this to be a poem about you. So this contest is going to be hard to enter, let the reader know what child abuse does to a person, you can make it as graphic as you want, we are trying to get through to people what child abuse does. Please if you are graphic; put it in the appropriate category.
Anyone wishing to join UsedandAbused can apply here allpoetry.com/Application/612686
For those of you who have not been abused there is a contest to help us promote child abuse awareness allpoetry.com/poem/863076
1st 300 points + 100 points
2nd 150 points + 50 points
3rd 75 points + 50 points
This is being judged, your poems are being read and commented on, you will get the results soon, I promise

I think this is a great idea I am sure soem from Peace chain too will write for this. you have our support.

A very meaningful contest. I am always glad to see someone address this issue. The affects of child abuse never go away...they mark that person for life...inside..if not outside.
-
Do you consider rape abuse?
~Acadia~ -
Very much so, Acadia. I was sexually molested, so I consider that abuse.

Great contest
I've finally gotten a chance to get this off my chest, I've never had anyone I could tell this to so... thank you -
It was an awesome idea for a contest. This is a great way for people to be able to express themselves and open themselves up without fear of ridicule or judgement. It was a wonderful idea, and I support this whole-heartedly. Good luck to all the contestants.

This is a great idea for a contest and look at all the people who entered. Thanx for the contest I enter This Lady' hope you like it.

thank you EVERYONE
... to be placed and awarded a little cup is a very nice bonus
, however` the cup means nothing to me unless my pain has been used to help stop another child from being abused
.
this contest was hard work for me and re-living the pain and suffering comes at a price ?, I want everyone to continue the fight against abuse and I want everyone to share in my little moment of glory .... by saying well done to themselves for taking the time to enter this contest and for showing they care.
EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU IS A GREAT PERSON
THANK YOU
your fellow poet
