Hail to the Queens!

well here goes my 3rd contest.
my site name is Queenie so I always notice when I see
the Queen in other names.one of my very favorite poets is Queen.hi!Queen.so this is what I want you guys to do.pick your favorite queen and write me the best tribute poem you can.of course it can be me.i may only be a Queenie, but I am royal.no,not a royal pain in the butt.anywho, chose your queen and you have plenty to choose from.
now for the rules:
1.no prewrites at all.show your loyalty to your queen by writing something original.
2.express your love for your queen just don't
get kinky.
3.write the name of your queen in the author's comments and leave a link to a poem by your queen.
4.your form and style is to your own choosing.
5.you are permitted 3 entries but they must be about three different queens.
6.do watch your language, harsh language shouldn't be used to describe your queen anyway.
1st place-500pts
2nd place-300pts
3rd place-100pts
10 honorable mentions will receive 10pts each.
alright,go on now,bow down to your queen.no,bowing down to me won't get you the prize.I play fair.any
entry paying tribute to me will have to be over the
top to win.and just because you are a queen doesn't mean you can't pay tribute to another queen.I know
princesses are queens in the making but no,they have to wait their turns.
have fun,you queen worshipers!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 2, 2004
  • Rewards: Gold: 500
  • Final notes:
well this didn't go as well as i expected, but at less
i can say that it was a contest where everyone is a
winner.although there were only a handful of entries, they were excellent ones.i know everyone will be thinking that sam is the winner because she wrote about me.well it helped but the truth of the matter it was the sincerity of the words that made it
the ultimate winner.i will cherish this one.
messa p wrote a truly astounding piece about a truly
astounding queen and took second place.
willow captured the essence of one of my favorite queens
    for a third place win.
maureen receives a special recognition prize of 100pts
for giving my granddaughter something to sing about.
jaunty pill write a very moving piece about a true
life queen and will receive 50pts.
september faith's piece paid tribute also to the
wonderful eternalicequeen and will receive 50pts.
poetryrocks entered and for that 10pts will be awarded.
it wasn't a booming success, but it was still fun.
    thank you.

I think this is going to be a very fun contest and an original one at that. I will have to go find my "Queen" so I can start paying tribute or bowing down to her as they would do in England. I have the perfect Queen in mind and I believe she just became a queen not to long ago as well.

Well now you've went and done it! I had just finished what I considered my last contest poem, and now you come up with this one. Hmmmmm I will do my best to come up with a tribute poem. I have 10 days to put the ol thinking cap on.

This sounds like a fun contest. I went though the poet list just out of curiosity to see how many poet's names start with Queen.. There are tonnes! Not to mention those queens out there who have queen in the middle or at the end of their names, lol. THere are many choices. Perhaps I'll try my hand at this contest.

I don't know of just one "queen"... I know of many and so my entry, if I happen to enter, will reflect such. lol, sometimes it takes a little while for contests to take off--none of the recent ones have garnered many entries, especially not "See As I See"--and I had that open for two entire months! Besides, a lot of people procrastinate and don't really take notice of contests until the last two or three days I have been known to do that (guilty look)

Even if this place is not overflowing I hope you have fun judging!

    Many blessings,

    Raven Aurora

Although you imply this, the rules don't make it clear... does the subject have to have "queen" in their name? My best friend and greatest inspiration on this site is a queen and proud to be one, even if his name doesn't say so.

Sorry the queen in my life is my cat Cleo and my goddess is my cat Isis. I don't have enough time to do a good job on such a special poem. Maybe next time.
