This sounds very interesting. I just held a contest and had poems written along with an AP Name suggestion so I could pick a new AP Name. That's where this name came from. When I saw this contest I thought it might be something similar but this is unique. I'll have to think about this one and possibly enter. Great idea!

Oooo excellent idea.
This time round I will get some sleep before submitting. hehe

-

-

-
Hey, this sounds easy, I'll try it.
-
(((wonders if BOB is turning into a contest junkie)))
-
lol i could have a go at this using just my different names but then that would show all where i am so i think i will give it a miss.
-
...and it's a maximum of 20 lines/names so that counts you out too
Kat xxx -
hehehe well i could of used just twenty of them
but it would still show all where i am in the main and i can't be having that.
-
hmmm, this does sound intriguing...methinks I may have to give it a try if i have the time...
~Shadow -

If I get around to anything but laziness, I will enter this mofo. I haven't seen this idea before and I think it's neat.

Back To Sleep Please
I dreamt I was in the here and now,
but the Huntress of the night
swallowed the DarkRain of imagery
that the Lilac Moon bestowed to me.
You could taste my smile above the pillow,
it was chasingtheday in other realms.
All the Withered petals that had fallen
from the Queen of fast eyes blew away.
Forever Ends when dawn breaks its silence
with the purplerose that gathers yawns.
The Poetic Escape roamed the sheets
where Whispered Love echoed behind patterns
the WarriorofGod danced across life's eyes.
All the invisible rain soaked the soft skin
while thewhippingwind opened curtains
to the pinkwhite morning shining bright.
Dragon Tears flapped evaporating wings
as finally awake became the Crazy Person
who threw out a DeadlyCryOfHelp of I would
like to go back please to drunkenxmonkeys.

I really enjoyed entering this contest. It got me thinking...thanks for making this contest, i've had fun writing!
-
Oh my god. The idea of this is hilarious.
You SO should do it!!!
Please Please Please make my day.
-
Oh this so kicks butt, Kat! I'll be sure to enter it - what about people that have numbers in their names? Do you take them off, or not use them or what?
Her lips tasted like pure candy177?
Thought I'd use myself as an example lol.
-
Very cool contest idea. Hey, and I really like this background.. can I steal it, please? I am in need of some new backgrounds.
-
Re:names with numbers in.
There are an awful lot to choose from that don't have numbers in their names BUT...
if you want to use some, keep them to a minimum
preferably not in every line as they stop the flow of the words somewhat!

Hey feel free to steal any of my backgrounds you fancy. It's really flattering to come across a poem out of the blue that has one of mine
Kat xxx -
Thank you
-
hehe this is a cool contest
-
I think this is a brilliant idea for a contest. I already entered, but this is truley an original idea. I'm glad you chose this as your topic because it allows users on here to be creative with other usernames. I enjoyed entering this contes and I know there is some really tough competition. Good luck to every one entering and I hope you use a lot of creativity in writing your poems.

a pretty original idea for a contest, though the poetry produced here will, unfortunately, be restricted to this site. no one else would really get it...unless they've been online. you get the point. but still, i think this is a good thing, too. it strengthens this community, and it's just fun! good, fun poetry. and how very creative!
-
I have to disagree with you
The poems that I have read so far in this contest have been wonderfully scripted and have all incorporated the user names in such a way as not to detract from the flow or meaning of the piece as a whole. I think they could stand alone as great poems, even when this contest is over
Kat xxx -
What a great idea for a contest! I had fun writing my entry...there's some great usernames here...awesome inspiration.
-
That's fine, then. I'm just saying if they ever want to get any of these poems published in print, they might want to remove all the italicizing and the asterisks, or else explain what the prompt was behind the writing, or it would seem odd to the reader.
-
Thank you, I get your point, but anyone submitting a piece to an editor would automatically (I would presume) edit their piece to what the publishers ask for Re: font, spacing etc for submissions.
You can tell from my expertise that I am widely unpublished all over the world
Kat
-
Oh...interesting...very interesting...
-
Fun, Fun, Fun.
And you got lots of entries. I knew this one would go down a storm.
-
kick ass contest!!!
-
Hiya, do we have to let the poets know in advance that we're going to use their name in a poem? I would be a little miffed if I saw my name in a poem and it was used in a derogatory manner, hhmmmm interesting idea though. I'll read through the enteries so far. I have indeed written 2 poems a while back. I incorporating names of this site ( permission was granted first) and another poem written where I used the title of every poem written by a girl on here. So, er, Kat.. should we ask first?
dave
-
I would hope that you wouldn't want to use anyones name in such a way as to offend them. All the entries so far have been of a serious nature and it would be good to get some humourous poems too. So if you are at all unsure then by all means ask first.
I have only seen messages from people who have been flattered by their inclusion in the poems entered so far
Kat xxx -
The entries so far have all been fantastic, although all very somber and dark...any chance of some humour
Kat xxx -
YEY! you used me in your example, thats so cool, yep I am all that remains lol Anyway I'm going to enter because it is such a cool idea! x
-
I really love the idea of this contest.. its very unique and interesting..
-
This is very unique and a very interesting contest. if I was that talented I would enter.. but I'm not
Good luck with your contest

i am hoping to enter if i can think of something within the next few days!

Is it alright if we use our own names?
-
Sure feel free to use your own name, no problemo
-
Lol, wish my name was more poetic now- though maybe someone could contain it in a Spanish context (Juan told me it meant watering hole in Spanish
) A great idea for a contest though, especially since so many AP poets have great names which work great with this and are very inspiring. All the best,
Pozo

ROFLMAO
I cannot believe how many poems my screen name showed up in! Of course, it is only because I landed a neat name

Hey I thing it's a close race between you and chasingtheday as to who has appeared in the most poems

-
Thanks for the honorable mention!!!
-
I'm honored
Wozers... my first trophy here at AP.... awesome! I had so much fun with this contest that I could have kept writing more and more and I caught myself not so much chasingtheday... but going around all day... day after day... trying to think up new story lines with the massive amount of usernames from which to work with.
Um... like is this my virtual acceptance speach? In that case... I'd like to thank all the people that have inspired me over the years. And a special thanks to those who read... commented... and liked my work. I would like to thank my mother... my... lol.. just kidding. I guess I'll exit the stage now! APPLAUSE APPLAUSE! Thanks for offering such a creative contest Kat -
i thought mine was in the list too, but not. so i missed to join the contest... *sigh.
