Okay this contest really isnt that hard.
I knew my friend Jessica since 3rd grade. We had the same b-day, but she was a year older then me, and a grade higher. She died a year ago, and I just miss her. I guess I need help with closure, so Im trying new things. Ive been writing a lot of poems about her, here are a few of my recent poems about her.

okay, okay now the poem doesnt nessisarly have to be about her. Just something about angels, closure, her, death, moving on, letting go. I just need something to help me you know? Her smile is what I remember most, she was beautiful, brown hair, skinny, model type(she did do modeling when she was 15), and beautiful. Just write about nething about that I guess. I appreciate it a lot.
I will applaud to prolly everyone too, so you get atleast 5pts lol.
Im hoping to get atleast a few entries, you know?
Limit 3entries per person...Only 1prewrite, I want mostly original.
RIP Jessica Lynn Ayrton, 11-26-87 to 05-0403
I love you Jessie

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 29, 2004
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: This contest was really hard to judge, but all in all I do believe it was a success. Thank you so much, for taking the time to enter my contest, and thank you to those who took the time, and wrote a poem especailly for her. I dont think you could ever understand just how much she ment to me. Though she's gone, I still see her everywhere. Its weird, because sometimes, I even see her in other people, like they would say things, she would say, but thats not good, because it would always trigger a panic attack. I know she's with me always, I can feel her all around, and she wants me to feel peace, and no more pain, thats why Im trying in every possible way, and this contest did help.
Anyways, here are some honorable mentions. The poems that still fit for the contest perfectly, and I wish I could have picked:
-RIP Jessica
-Forever
-To An Angel
-My Dream to my Reality
-My Angel Jessie
-Our Last Embrace
-Our Last GoodBye
-I dream Angel
-Our Day in Paradise
-Sitting up high
-Care so much
-Time to reflect
-Heavens newest Angel
-My Angel
-We'll Never say Goodbye
Thank you all, most of the poems that were listed made me cry lol. Poems never ever make me cry, but these did. I appreciate all the support, and all the people that care. Thanks for everything...Entries [24]

I wish my poem "closure" would be appropriate but its FAR from that, it's just about ex-bf and moving on. so sorry i couldn't submit anything. best of luck i hope you find inspiration through the poems that will be submitted -love, pauline
-
I wish my poem was appropriate, but I have a feeling it's not what you're looking for. You did inspire me to write it, but I just couldn't find the right words. Sorry if it sucks, but I tried my best.

see the contest is already off to a great start! i'm glad all these great poets are finding words to comfort and calm your soul and set you maybe at a little ease. it looks like it's going to be a great contest i'm so happy for you!
-
I'm sorry to hear about Jessica again. ( Glad you took my advice about the contest, though. It'll be great to get closure, even if the poem isn't necessarily about HER specifically. ) I hope you will find the peace you deserve, I'm always here as a fellow Escape member if you ever want to chat. I'd be glad to help ( as I'm sure this contest will ). I plan on entering the contest, this sounds like a wonderful idea.

i also have lost a few friends. while you never get over it, it gets easier with time. the last friend i had lost, it will be a year in august so i'm having a few problems right now also. i have a prewrite i will enter, and will probably come up with something else as well. this is a good idea for a contest
-
Looks like you have tons of support from all of us here at ap. You have a lot of entries to sort through. Good luck and hope things get easier for you.

Hi! I just entered your contest; what a lovely idea for a tribute to your friend's memory! When you get a chance, please visit my author's page; I have at least 3-4 that could apply to your current situation...I've suffered some grievous losses in recent months (lost 6 in 6 years, 2 since Christmas last year, including the 14+ years love of my life). Be well, dear Poet...she is still with you...LOVE never dies...swan
-
I will miss you, has been put into the wrong contest, I put it back to a regular poem so please ignore that one of mine
-
This is a beautiful idea for a contest, I'm sure your friend would be so pleased that it's dedicated to her
I wish I could enter, but I really have no idea of what to write..I will think and try and get a good idea, and then I'll be able to enter..Good luck everyone! Once again, this is a great idea! ~Jo~ xxx

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WINNERS! & everyone else! great writes, everyone!...swan

I can not enter this poem into your contest because it is already a contest poem.. but I wrote this for a very dear friend of mine... and I think it may help you a little! *hugs*
It was you who told me
That you would guide me
With the experience
That pain has left on your doorstep
And in your heart
*~*~*~*
Although my experience is less
My arms will always be out stretched
And my heart open
My love does not know distance
nor does it know conditions
*~*~*~*
You are a source of great light
A source of strength, dependability and hope
The times have been tough, I know
And the waters have been rough
But in the end, you will see
God will carry you through on Angel wings
*~*~*~*
He hasn't forgotten or let you out of His sight
There are some trials we just can't fight
Lift up your fears, your cares and worries
and you will see, he is carrying you through on Angel Wings
*~*~*~*
It was you who told me
that you would enfold me in your arms
beneath your heart to protect me
and allow me to relax and just be
*~*~*~*
It has been you, who has taken care of me
Now it is my turn, to help and pull you through
Never give in, to temptation of fear
call out to me, I promise to always be near
*~*~*~*
I will hold your hand and keep your spirit safe
God blessed me with you and you showed me your heart
For the rest of my life, I will never be the same
I will stand by you through the good and the bad
We can never give up, we are in this together
*~*~*~*
You're not alone, and that you must remember
With God's help, we can weather the storm together
And just when you think, the darkness will never let up
There will be a break in the clouds and the light will flood in
*~*~*~*
It was you my friend that taught me this lesson
that everything in life, is how it's meant to be
We should take away from each experience we have
something that will help us, in each new tomorrow
*~*~*~*
So take my hand Mom and dont be afraid
When its too dark I'll help show the way
I'll be by your side until the end of time
And know no matter what it is you are going through
That it is God, who will carry you through on Angel Wings
May God Bless you always my dear!!!
