What's up AllPoetry Kids!!
This is my second contest. I've been trying to scrounge up as many points as I could before collaborating for this. My dear friend Amanda (DixieChick) will be co-handling this contest.
So... since I have nothing remotely interesting to say, let's get crackin'.
-Rules-
~*If you have more than three trophies, I am terribly sorry, this contest is off-limits to you. I'm trying to get the kids without much confidence some of those grand points and *of course* those kickass trophies.
~*Prewrites are allowed and encouraged. The only thing I must ask of you who wish to add a prewrite, *PLEASE* make sure it has something to do with one of our choices.
~*Profanity, cursing, obscene language, etc., is perfectly acceptable. Use any kind of words you feel necessary to enhance the emotion of your poem... don't go completely overboard with it, though. This is quite a privilege I'm letting you have, heh.
~*Please only submit three poems. I know those trophies are insanely awesome, orgasmic even, but after you've submitted three poems it just starts to look desperate... write for expression, not for points.
~*In your author's comments of your poem, please put "Slinky! Slinky! Fun for a girl or a boy!" so that we will know you've taken time to read through the rules. *PLEASE* be sure to add this into your author's comments, I hate to not give someone points or a trophy just because of something stupid like not reading the rules, but it's gotta be the same for everyone...
That wasn't so horrendous, was it?
-Your Choices-
ONE ~ *The ever-popular* Love.
Write about how much that special someone means to you, how they have changed your life, etc.
TWO ~ Betrayal.
I used this in my last contest, and I was honestly impressed with the poems submitted. So I'm giving it another spin. Write about how someone has gone behind your back and hurt you.
THREE ~ Something Humorous.
Since I'm lacking creativity at the moment, I offer this example from my last contest: "I love hot drummer guys who pick their nose and eat it!"
FOUR ~ A song-inspired poem.
Yeah, whatever song you like... eh, I don't look to forward to reading a poem that you wrote directly after listening to "Hot in Herre" by Nelly... but other than rap I don't really mind anything. Amanda will love you if you write something inspired by country, and Jen will love you if you write something inspired by emo or pop punk... *see her author's page for a list of her favorite bands, in order to completely blow her away*.
FIVE ~ Something that rhymes.
An example: I walked down the road and stumbled upon a toad.
Just make sure it rhymes, kids. Be sure to be happy. We need to get Jen out of this stupid depressed bullshit. No, don't write something *for* her, just something that might cheer her up. It doesn't have to be a certain length.
SIX ~ Disappointment.
Write about how someone has disappointed you. Let you down. Fucked with your expectations.
I sincerely hope you have fun with this contest. Don't enter just for the sake of entering!
-Points-
First Place: 400
Second Place: 100
Third Place: *at the moment* 20 (however, by the time the contest is finished, I hope to have 50.)
Judging will commence on Thursday, June 24th.

I like the title of the contest alot, it makes alot of sense especially if your a poet. I love the title, and I think im gonna put that on my author page as a lil quote thing! I like ure choices too, they arent too vague and they arent too specific, awesome contest, Im very, honoured I guess you could say, about being in it.

Emochild.... I just gotta say something here...
I can't believe after reading most of your entries that they have under 3 trophies. Their pages should be full!!!
There are allot of kick-butt poets in here. Awesome writters and the talent of some are just blowing me away! You'll have a tough job desiding on just 3. Wow!!!!!
TO ALL YOU POETS IN HERE, I APPLAUD YOU ALL!!!!!!!
Bravo
FifthDove
-
Yes!!! I completely agree with you, FifthDove! It's quite a wonder that they don't have fifty trophies because most of these entries deserve it!!!
Thank you so much for encouraging them
<3
-Jen -
I always brouse around in contest looking for budding talent.
I was floored when I saw yours.. My God girl...These poets in here that have less then 3 trophies are better then most of the so called experts here at AP. I can see the writing on the walls very clearly. They (the so called greats) are going to start loosing a few contests here real quick, to these aspiring poetry artists. There are quite a few great writes in here already. Like I said before you are going to need a miracle
to choose just 3. lol
I will check back.... can't wait to see the results.
Good luck
