Summertime and the Living is Easy..

"Summertime, and the living is easy..."

3rd contest. I'm really lookin' forward to seeing what ya'll can submit to this one. As always, haiku, humorous writes, and religious stuff aren't my faves, but if you think you can fit everything I want into any of those, by all means, submit them.

I want to hear about summer love. It can be anything: your view on it, society's view on it, your personal experiences, your friend's experiences, a summer fling, failed summer love, real love that happened during the summer.. you have almost complete freedom with this one, as long as it's about love during the summer, I'm happy.

Rules:
-Two writes max. per person
-Prewrites allowed
-Okay, I'm not making you put anything in your author's comments. It's really kind of stupid, and I'm sick of having to disqualify people for not putting what I told them too. I'll be able to tell if you read the rules or not by how you write your poem, I'm sure.
-It has to be about summer love
-Comment on other's works, I won't check, but it's just nice.
-Have a lovely day

Questions, comments, concerns? Leave a message, or just AIM me at BigBrownEyes2k6. I also have MSN Messenger, BigBrownEyes2k6@aol.com (I'm not on it much, though).

Okay. Get writing!

xx Jess

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 18, 2004
  • Rewards: Gold: 400
  • Final notes:
This contest went very well, I must say. I enjoyed reading all the poems that were submitted, and when I was faced with the judging, I found it much harder to choose the winners than in my previous two contests. The caliber of poems submitted were much higher than I expected, and I was very impressed. Everyone did a wonderful jo!

1st [Gold] - yoursbyperil's "The Way We Did"
    2nd [Silver]- pashonnjreemz's "When Summer's Gone"
    3rd [Bronze]- zt's "Summer of '83"
