Well my wife just gave me 500 pts off the 1000 pts WE won with OUR poem..teehee! So I thought, what the hell, why not have another contest!
You know what? I don't really think I want any boundaries. Hell, enter anything to want to. Just make me happy. (hint: make me HAPPY) Woohoo! I'm in a good mood!
**What Mindy likes:
-Love
-Erotica
-Humor
-Religious (don't diss ANYONES religion)
-Lost love/regained love
-Anything happy
**What Mindy is NOT looking for:
-Cutting
-Depression
-Suicide
-Anything NOT happy!
*QUICK EDIT*
I won't comment on any of the pieces till I'm judging
*ANOTHER QUICK EDIT*
I'm sick of reminding people of the rules. The one specifically I'm speaking of - is you must comment on one of my pieces. That doesn't mean just because you've commented before you're good. If you enter a write, make a comment. If you don't, I'm DQ'ing you at the end. Why? Because I'm mean - that's why! Bwahahaha.
**RULES** *dun dun dun..dramatic music*
-TWO (DOS, ZWEI) ENTRIES per person
-You MUST comment on one of my writes! bwahahaha!
-Prewrites are fine. Brownie points for new writes though!
-USE SPELL CHECK! My gosh people, it's there for a reason
-And as always, because I am the queen of this contest, I have the right to DQ you for any reason. Why? Because I can!
POINTS:
500 GOLD
then...however many I feel for Silver and Bronze!

This is a nice idea for a contest! Good luck with judging and that, I hope you get heaps of good, happy entries. One thing though, you have stated that prewrites are "fine" but have disallowed them! =] Better change that one..

Hey, great idea! Oh also, you said prewrites were allowed, but then we can't enter them...could you go back and change that so that we can enter prewrites like the rules say? Thanks so muchly!

Ok. Incase you all come back and bitch and bitch or wonder about judging FIRST I'm going through and making sure no one broke rules. Then I'm reading, commenting, and then I'll make my decesion. Life is SUPER hectic with graduation/Prom/Jake coming up - so bear with me. I *should* have it done by next weekend. Thanks!

Seriously you guys, the rules were NOT that hard. Here's the list of people I've DQ'd because they didn't follow the damn rules! IF you think you commented on one of my pieces BETWEEN the dates of April 26th-April 30th then let me know. *shakes head sadly*

I guess being a new guy on the block, I don't understand your contest process. In reading what the contest was about, you ask for something to make you happy, yet two of the poems you chose as winners, you comment that they made you feel serene. I have never considered serene and happy to be the same emotion, so that threw me off a little there. I'm not trying to be difficult here, just trying to understand the process and get a feel for whether or not I want to belong to the site. I also noticed that one of your winners didn't even have any comments on their poem other than those that were left by you. Are the comments of others not taken into consideration when judging a poem? It seems to me that it should be. When I am happy I tend to laugh and smile a lot, you had a poem on here that did that for me and I don't see it now. It was about a rubber ducky. Not to pass judgment on anyone elses hard work, but I was shocked to see that the piece I speak of did not win. I copied that piece and took it to work to share with some co-workers, it was such a hit, I was sure everyone else would feel the same way, but now it isn't even listed on your page. How tragic. I guess serene means happy and merit and hard work are only in the eyes on just one person when it comes to judging poetry. Forgive me, but it seems like a pretty lame and unfair process if you ask me. Why would anyone bother to enter contests?

Main Entry: hap·py
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): hap·pi·er; -est
Etymology: Middle English, from hap
1 : favored by luck or fortune : FORTUNATE
2 : notably fitting, effective, or well adapted : FELICITOUS
3 a : enjoying or characterized by well-being and contentment : JOYOUS b : expressing or suggestive of happiness : PLEASANT c : GLAD, PLEASED d : having or marked by an atmosphere of good fellowship : FRIENDLY
4 a : characterized by a dazed irresponsible state b : impulsively or obsessively quick to use or do something c : enthusiastic about something to the point of obsession : OBSESSED
Ok - theres the definition. I do believe somewhere within that definition lies the word, "pleasant" - serenity to ME is pleasant. When I get a feeling over happiness rushing over me it can be either laughter, a smile, or a feeling of peace. I don't think you have the right to try and say any different. The poem you speak of was a beautiful poem, by a dear friend that I adored (and might I add applauded since I couldn't award him a trophy) but it wasn't to my liking like the others. Contests are for the JUDGES to pick the ones that strike THEIR fancies, not the fancies of others (unless otherwise declared within the rules). I'm glad you found humor within the entries.
Oh - and might I add. The winning poem was posted about 2 days before the end of the contest. It has been viewed SEVEN times, 2 of those being me. If you'll look at the viewings of some of the others, you'll see they were viewed and read a lot more. Besides that fact, why would I care what others thought of the poem? This contest was for ME, held by ME, and judged by ME - not anyone else. You don't give a trophy to the best liked, you give it to the one that struck you the most. My decision was mine, and mine alone. Thanks for your half thought comment though, it was slightly appriciated. -
Dear friend? No...thats ex-friend. Like 2hot, I feel I got screwed. Survey says: Serene is NOT happy.
