Welcome to my first contest!
and the choices are...
*drum roll*
1. Re-write the lyrics to a well-known song (MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE WHAT SONG YOU'RE DOING IN YOUR COMMENTS) Use any topic you like, but try to keep the rhymes the same and also the rhythm... that way someone could sing your version when someone played the other version...
For example, to the tune of "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas"
"Scary Mr. Pedophile, now you disturbed man, tell me what you'll do to me, in your big white van" (only you should try to do the whole song)
2. Write a poem about the beauty and peace of nature. This topic is done a lot so try to make it good...
3. Write a poem about someone you love and why you love them. This could be a family member, a significant other, a friend, a teacher, anyone!
However, try to avoid writing it like an assigned essay, for example: "I love my Mom / She is sweet / and buys me things / like candy to eat" wouldn't get you very far.
RULES:
1. Please keep it clean!
2. I'm looking for quality not quantity so only two entries per person please.
3. It's always nice to encourage and critique other poets so try to give a real, insightful review to at least one other person who has entered.
4. Get writing!
