OK! This contest is for me - and I better get a lot of entries darn it! I have a man in the Navy. Right now he's down in Florida, but in June he'll be going overseas for 6 months (Iraq, and somewhere in Africa). Right now it is planned that he will come home in May -- and that'll be the first time I've seen him in a year. Needless to say, we're both extremely nervous. I'm afraid he'll lose interest and vise versa. Each night we chat on the phone, his voice has the capability to soothe me - even if it's just calling his voice mail (crazy, yeah i know). To describe him a bit - He's got an amazing body (common - hes in the forces!), light hazel eyes, light sandy hair, a smile that lights up any room.
OK! That's the background - now what do I want you ask?! Well..this is what I want!
I want a poem about our relationship! (No we're not officially together )
IT CAN BE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
1-Soothing this nervousness we have about each other
2-About our long distant "relationship"
3-What it'll be like when we meet (make a scenario!) - this one could get you some brownie points
4-If you have someone in the armed forced, write me a poem about them and how your relationship survived
5-Anything else you can think of..surrounding THIS situation
OK RULES!:
-NO PREWRITES! (UNLESS: Its about YOUR relationship with someone else. In this case you MUST IM me so I can approve)
-Erotica is fine but make it tasteful!
-No limit on entries or length - but keep in mind if it's long it better be good, and the same goes for short.
-Go ahead and cuss if it's tasteful

Great Contest
What a nice way to gather material to send to hubby a few days or weeks from now! That's a pretty cool idea. I wonder how many of the troops have I-net access over there. Well, keep a good heart and remember that these guys really are fighting for something worthwhile no matter what the media or the protestors say. It does make you scratch your head when the guys who are supposed to be the good guys (Shi-ites) cap eight of your finest! "Thanks for freeing us from Saddam... now die RAT-TAT-TAT-TAT-TAT!!!" Bastards. What a mess. It is like Vietnam in a way... the guys who are your friends by day are shootin' at you at night. I wish the very best for your hubby and pray for the safe return of all our troops. Now if we could just nail that bin Laden imbecile. -

Well, seeing that I have a few days to think on this ... six, to be precise ... I will use all of them in utter contemplation on a piece for this contest. This should turn out pretty well for you, I imagine, because so many people on AP love their love poetry ... err, you know what I mean.

i sure wish that we would get some letters from our loved ones most of the guys that i went with didn't get any at all i felt for them so much. an excellent chice for a contest it proves how much you love him and i hope you get what you want out of life from him
