Bible Story / Character Contest

Hey Gang!
Time for another contest!! This time I will be collaborating with Absinthe for help in the judging. You can enter as many times as you like and Prewrites are fine as long as they fit the contest!

The choices you have to write on are:

1. Tell me your favorite Bible Story, please put where it is found in your authors comments.

2.Tell me which story or character in the Bible has had the most influence over your life and your faith.

3. Tell me which person in the Bible you feel you are most like and why you identify with that person.

OK, I think that is it for the choices. Again enter as many poems as you would like to and Prewrites are fine. I hope we get lots of entries. This is a good way to share your faith and your beliefs through your poetry. Above all, have fun writing!!

Now The Rules:

1. As this is based on the Bible, of course, No X-rated content, meaning that we do npt want any profanity or pornography. The Bible is filled with stories that are of an adult nature, but there is a tasteful way to share them.

2. Write in any style of poetry that you would like to.

3. Have Fun! and God Bless You All for entering!!

1ST place - 300 points
2ND place - 200 points
3RD place - 100 points
Depending on the entries received and the amount of points at the time of closing there may be an Honorable Mention given to the closest runners up!

Thanks to everyone who entered my first contest and please join in my second. Remember, there are two of us to impress this time so lets have some good entries!! God Bless!

First, I would like to say, since I am sick tonight, we had to close a couple of hours early. So, if anyone missed a last minute entry, I am sorry!!
Now, this has just been a great contest. So many really good entries. We want to thank all of you who took the time to enter this contest and also thank you for such great poems. It makes it hard to judge.
Absinthe and I have discussed the entries and finally decided on the winners. We would like to ask all of you to keep writing your spiritual poetry! wasn't there plenty of gore and adult content in the Bible? i've read it a few times, and there seemed to be a lot of that in there. and adult content: david watch some chick take a bath. if that's not adult content, then what is?

This is a great contest and should be a testament of faith for all who enter. I will be back after I do a little study.

Yes there is adult content in the bible; how else could it be a best seller for over two thousand years. Perhaps we need to change that to please avoid explicit adult content. What do you think kountrykid?

Great, Penny! Now these are my kind of contests: mainly because the Bible is all I write about, whether it's poetry, articles or books! I already know with which Biblical character I identify, bu--ut, I've got to take some time to write the poem. So, I will get back here ASAP... at least before this contest ends. I can see you already have some great entries. Hope it turns out as good as you expect. Catch'a later, dear one. ~~Bonnie

I have a favorite story from the bible..coincidentally, I was just talking to my husband re: writing a poem about it. I'll try to get it written in time for your contest.

Awesome. That would be so cool. We want as many entries as we can get. The bible is a big book with big impacts on peoples lives and we want to hear about it. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I look forward to reading your entry.
    God bless,
    Absinthe

Just wanted to say good luck to all that enter. Yup, the Bible has lots and lots of unique characters, "good" and "bad" to write about. Well we can be very much alike with someone but we can never be the same as anyone else and we shouldn't even try, because nobody is perfect but everyone is special and unique in his or her own way. So as much as a character seems bad in any book we do not know him and why he did that, it would be judging and condemning based on heresay only, and even the best character in any book would have his own faults that we just might not know about because it has not been told to us, that is what makes him human. It is God's job to judge, not ours. Ours is just to be the best we can be as us ourselves. Well that is my opinion, but everybody is entitled to a different opinion right? Be safe, be happy, may God bless you all in this struggle called life.

Thanks for all the comments and interest!! As Absinthe said, we just do not want any thing explicit. I have changed the wording in order to avoid any future confusion. God Bless All and Good Luck to all who enter!! Hugs, Penny
