oh the possibilities...
Wow a ghostly poem, something I had not considered before.. i will have to give this some serious thought... This is such a great photo and the stairwell.. Oh my mind is spinning already... Oh the possibilities... -
omg i love this... im gonna try for you!
-
I will try to enter. But, if I may comment, a photo is only a semi-accurate source for capturing the visual essence of a spirit. I would know, being a medium myself. I have had a number of...dangerous encounters, and then some not so. I have gotten numerous chances to speak with and converse with different spirits who passed on through varying means.
This is a brilliant idea for a contest. -
How interesting Susan! I'm not good with ghosts and horrors writes, but I'm sure you will get very good entries to your contest!

Hmm. I can't write anything for this. How bothersome. I shall keep trying, but I dunno...Wish me luck!

-
This is a good idea miss. I was thinking of entering then I saw the 30 line limit. I hate having to base my poems on legnth so I will sit this one out. Have fun with the entries though, I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun reading them

Spooky!
Wow Sis, this is so cool! I love ghost stories, and this picture gave me chills...I had my own experience staying at the Logan Inn, a well-known haunted inn in New Hope, PA, and this photo actually looks like the staircase there, before they made changes...a bit too creepy for me. I freaked when we were there, felt like eyes in the painting at the top of the landing were watching...and everyone says that...cause it's a portal into the other world, so they say. But I have no stomach for that stuff, just like reading about it, don't want to see any ghosts in person...sorry GHOSTS!!
But they spook the crap out of me! hahaha
They don't call me a Pee Pee Fairy for nothing. LOL
But I like this Sis...in an eerie way. Well, good luck with the contest!
Maybe the spirits will smile upon you. (only GOOD spirits need apply) lol
Love you Susan! ~Sheryl~

I have seen this one before Susan..it really is a ghost.Love Joan

-
you did it susan! ghosties...ooohhhh
or should i say, boooooo? (lame grin)
don't think i've ever written anything in the horror genre
other than about inner demons
but i will be reading and cheering you on
hope you get some really good entries!
hugs,
~liz -
Where is this picture supposed to be taken?

Love the photograph. Always interesting in the mysteries of this world. Great contest, Susan. Love ya!--Kel
-
Interesting picture.. lol hmm...
-
I agree with everyone else... interesting picture... but I'm not sure that I could think of anything to write right now.
It's only 7:00 in the morning here, and I'll have to start working sooner or later. (Can't use the boss's computer ALL day for personal uses).
Anyway, where was the picture taken? Very interesting, though I'm not sure I believe in that kind of stuff. I have a theory as to why "ghosts" or "spirits" exist, but I have no proof or anything to base my theory on, so I guess it's just a thought, really.
Anyway, good luck to everyone who enteres! Have fun judging the contest...

My muse has been on vacation as of late, sadly, but I just have to say that his picture looks amazingly similar to an illustration of Millie the Ghost from Piers Anthony's Xanth series, to the point where that's the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it.
This is a very nifty idea for a contest, and I truly wish I could think of anything to write for it!
~^_^~ -
I have written many contest poems but I must admit this was one of the most enjoyable. Thank you dso much for choosing me as the Gold winner! I loved this challenge. Congratulations to all the winners and to all who entered, keep up the good work!
