Our First Super-Cool Contest!

Hey - all you AP dearies and fellows!

This is my first contest. It's a collaboration with my darling Maggie (StreaksofPink).

Now for your rules. Believe me, I hate them more than you do.

If you have more than one trophy, I am terribly sorry, this contest is not for you. One trophy is allowed.
(Here's a great story as to how we figured this out )

Emochild: are we gonna let anyone enter?
StreaksofPink: yes
Emochild: or should we discriminate against... people with many trophies?
StreaksofPink: discriminate against people with more than TWO trophies
Emochild: so no more than two trophies
StreaksofPink: wait...more than one.. yes, one...

(We're not really the discriminating type, so don't get too anxious about it. The whole "discriminate against people with many trophies" is just a joke and that's all it ever will be.)

If you choose to enter a pre-write, flatter us with the compliment of entering an original piece, too.

You can have profanity, adult content, etc. I don't mind any of it, and in fact, I like the use of random curse words in poems. Let your angst out, my friends.

Finally, type something random/funny (and please say something about your poem, ex "my poem is fucking awesome!") in the author's comments to let us know that you read the rules. Something like, "I love hot drummer guys who pick their nose and eat it!" Oh yes, please put the number of your preferred choice (what you wrote your poem about) somewhere in your poem: the title, in the poem, (as long as you make it clear) in the author's comments - SOMEWHERE.

Now for your choices!!!
DUNDUNDUN!!!

We have five different choices for you kids!!!

ONE - Self-mutilation. (cutting, suicidal shtuff, etc)

TWO - Funny. (something like, "I love hot drummer guys who pick their nose and eat it! Only PLEASE be original about it.)

THREE - How you got over a love. (If you were in love but got hurt, how did you overcome your sadness?)

FOUR - Hatred. (tell us how much you LOATHE something. Please don't bash gay or fat people, I've read enough BS on it already. If you bend these rules even in the slightest way, you will be automatically disqualified.)

FIVE -  Betrayal. (describe how a friend, boyfriend, girlfriend, parent, etc. has let you down.)

Remember to have fun, dearies and fellows. I know those trophies are killer but don't enter just for the sake of entering!!

First Place: 700
Second Place: 150
Third Place: 100

Judging should begin on Saturday, March 6th.

We hope you all understand how much work us judges are putting into selecting the top three entires of this contest.
We believe that 700 points is a steep amount and that we're not just going to throw them away by giving them to whoever we think did a mediocre job of writing a poem.
We have been debating and judging and slaving and we have not yet come to a decision...

    Thank you to EVERYONE who entered!
    We had super tons of fun judging this contest and all of the poems were super awesome, it was just what we were hoping for when we started collaborating to do this contest! It was hard to judge with so many great poems and such great talent that can be found on this site. We were astonished at the amount of deep and emotional poems and we debated for some time over who should get the points and trophies.
    Once again, thank you SO MUCH to everyone who entered and Congrats to our winners!!

    Hmm, only one trophy! Man that wonks...I think I should yell. Just kidding, this sounds interesting and I'll just read everything and say they all rock...hehe!

    Just wondering... you say that first place gets 400 points, but the way you have it set the first place will get 700 points. To set the number of points for each prize you should: set the number of points the contest is for equal to the amount of points for first... then send out the points for second and third place trophies. The contest won't split up the points to the winners.

    If you already knew all that, then I might just be taking up space, but I thought I'd point that out....

    Yeah, I'm disqualified, too. Alas.

    2nd and 3rd- I might be able to gather up perhaps 50 points for you both... MAYBE 100 for 2nd.. I will try my hardest kids!

    emphasize how you should enter a poem that *isn't* a pre-write because I dont want twenty thousand pre-writes kids!!

    I'm such a blonde that the person who wins this contest should bow down to me for it.
    The winner originally was going to get 400 points (as you probably know.)
    My coolness made it so that the winner gets *700* points so you better be givin me your BEST stuff people! seven hundred is a LOT of points!
