theDARK1: to many i have been a mystery. i still wanted to stay that way and still show the real me. through technology it has been made possible. i know that many also wanted the fantasy to continue. now everyone is a winner. you see the real me through the many disguises i posses. just like you humans with emotions, many moods take their swing. please accept my apologies if you are disappointed in me or the not so clear pics. but remember, we cherish our heros for what they do and for what they see in the mirror. we all want something to believe in. i still give you me!

so how many in allpoetry land would like the same thing; to see a real picture of theDARK1? this is how it will happen. to see DARK, you must write for DARK! only the entries will be allowed to see DARK. you will be notified in one way or another how this will happen. you will be able to view it for only a number of hours as it will be lost in digital heaven (then the pics will revert to something else or the particuler site will be dismantled that will contain the real photos of theDARK1).
your assignment a simple one: tell me how bad you want to see a real picture of theDARK1.

- Final notes: my choices were not based on the best poem in the contest, but for my emotional state at the time. truth be known, desire's entry made me feel like the king of hot/DARK and was going to give it number one. but itz a funny thing this feeling called emotion (which is what the contest "enter the DARK zone" is about). i am still strong with it after judging the contest "DARK presents: boosting self-esteem." there may be better entries than the ones that always become the winners, but then thats why poetry is so much like art (it all effects us in many different ways).
ShadowedOne: if no one knows the story, then i won't rehash it here. i just have to say that the words used in this poem has touched me to no end. this poem could win any contest i hold (itz a good thing i don't allow prewrites--she would win #1 every time for this enrty). this shadow will make some guy happy some day, i just hope he will do the same for this beautiful lady's soul is gold! i wish you the best my little shadow.
CalmWaters: this pegged me to a tee!
clamchoder: this individual has entered another one of my contests that remains open. i made a comment on her work and we continued the comments and im's. this poem has sentimental value for this poet does not look at things positively (for whatever reason it may be). this entry broke away from that for our converstions. i managed with her help to allow a positive influence into her life where a silver lining may exist if only for a moment. i know to many that a third place trophy might not be a thrust into fame, but i feel the lesson she was able to achieve writing for this contest will be a spark that might show a more positive side. be proud of this bronze trophy for you have earned it through the glimpse of hope you have demonstrated.
now we all know that everyone here was a winner for the main objective was to see this man of mystery. that was accomplished to a point. i know everyone loves a mystery and i wanted so much to stay that way. so there was a compromise that i thought could keep everyone happy. i am thrilled to have such a positive response (and glad to say that i am not aware of anyone being upset or disappointed and for this i thank you). i want to thank everyone for their entries. i feel so loved! i hope it will always be that way.

fs: you are too funny...glad to see a rival (if not an ally) to come venturing over. chelz surely will take the jealousy that extends from cheeks to be a compliment. yes, it was the persistance of cheek's curiousity that inspired this contest. she was truly wanting to see a real picture (as i thought to myself there must be several out there with the same curiousity). so i turned it into a contest for those who want to see. glad to see your entry (even though it might not say my name, hehehe). as a matter of fact, one of the few contests that i have not made that a requirement...even though i have conditioned many to do it own their own now, hehehe.

meesa p, no there are several here looking at the same thing that appeared before your eyes. i must admit, this is the first year i have been at a computer on new year's, but there are many things this year that are different. theDARK1 was born into a stardem that he truly was not prepared for. even though the inspiration for this alter ego came about through pain and suffering from a loved one, i gues itz all been worth it to know he has touched so many. i'm so glad theDARK1 has become an inspiration (we all need it in our lives). he's even become my idol (my techie will be going crazy now if she's reading this for she keeps telling me you are him, he's not a different person). thank you and all for making this one of the best contests i have had.
