I didn't have any better way to spend these points, so why not make a contest?
I'm not expecting many entries on this contest. Maybe around 5, probably less.
TOPIC:
Saint Therese. Yes. Saint Therese. She is my absolute favourite Saint. I mean Saint Therese of Lisieux. The Saint I created a thread about in the bulletin.
Or, the Canadian Martrys. But I'm not expecting anything about them.
CHOICES:
A poem about Saint Therese. For info on her, visit eskimokay.tripod.com/littleflower
Roses, but connect them with Saint Therese. For example, don't just submit a poem about roses, Therese must be in the poem somewhere.
NOTE: Due to confusion, you can also write about any Saint Therese, such as Teresa of Avila, Teresa of Los Andes, Mother Therese, Therese of Jesus, etc.
RULES:
In the author's questions comments box, you must give me your permission to post the poem on my website, eskimokay.tripod.com/littleflower, that is if I find it suitable-good enough-worthy you know.
Pre-writes accepted, but I doubt you have anything that fits.
No swearing, erotica, adult humor, obviously.
Any style accepted
Enter as many times as you want, since I'm not expecting many entries.

This is very intresting and I'll see what I can come up with. I think I read a poem somewhere on this site about her, very resently. Hmmmm, gotta think about it. Be back! Is she the same as Mother Teresa? She was a Saint too right, modern day?

Wow, good luck with this contest. Very specific. I wonder how many enteries you'll get. I know I won't be entering lol. I have no idea about this. Have fun judging when you get enteries.

Mother Therese isn't the saint I'm thinking about, though if you enter you can write about her if you want. The saint I'm thinking about is Saint Therese of Lisieux. (She has lots of other names, but I think that is her best known title.)
-
sam, looks like you are in the running of taking first and second so far. good luck in the contest to all those who enter. good luck in judging (even though it won't be too hard at the moment). hope you get more entries.
-
Quite an interesting challenge, especially for an agnostic like me, but I have visited the Basilica at Lisieux several times, and it was a moving and beautiful experience. I do hope you get quite a few entries on this one.
-
I think I'll do something for this, especially since you said that it can be open to writing about Mother Teresa as well. I live in Rome, and was at St. Peter's for her beatification ceremony, so I have lots of cool stuff to say about that. I'll hopefully have something soon, but I have finals now, so I don't know if I will get it in in time.
-
I can extend the date if you want. No problem
-
This will be a challenge. I'll see what i can do...

I'm sorry I forgot to put the permission in the box. I'll get on that right away.

Cool. Cool. St. Therese rox. lol. i was raised catholic and my mother loves her, my personal favorite is st. maria garetti. hehe. i'll consider entering. good contest idea.
-
This is an original contest idea. I like it. I too was raised Catholic but my favorite is Saint Francis of Assisi. I will research her and try to come up with something....
-
I didn't plan on entering this contest because I didn't know anything about St. Therese, but as I read more about her I was inspired to write a dedication to her. Thanks for the challenge.
-
Lovily idea for a poem. And you got more then 5 poems entered so far!
I like, oneslowtyper, don't know anything about St. Therese..but if i wasn't in school right now i would do some work to see who she is. So maybe if i have time i will do that.

NOTE TO ALL: This might take a little while for me to judge, as all entries are very beautiful and deserving poems. Please be patient with me, it will take a day or two to judge. Thanks.
-
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, ROSEBLOSSOM!!! I'm happy that you chose my poem even though it wasn't about your favorite saint. Saint Therese of Lisieux inspired me, too!
