another contest sponsored by theDARK1. if you can't tell, itz beginning to look alot like x-mas. i know some of you will think that i am going soft around the holidays 'cuz another simple contest is about to take place for theDARK1. but even when my contests are simple, i still have to stick a few things in to prevent a boring atmosphere (something i cannot be associated with as theDARK1).
1. pre-writes are not accepted (i do make you work alot for so little as there has been one contest where i allowed pre-writes, but knew it would be impossible to have one with the other stipulations i added).
2. one entry per poet (carbon copy rule you have probably noticed by now).
3. any style and i mean it (one thing i do not restrict is the poet's ability and form they like to use for theDARK1 is truly flexible in evaluating whatever is submitted).
4. this will be a poem or story to celebrate 12 days of x-mas for theDARK1. you will be required to create a new set of gifts for theDARK1 (please make sure none of the original gifts for the 12 days of x-mas is used in your work...originality is key).
5. the kicker; the following words will be used somewhere in your poem at least once (there is no limit how many times you may use them, just make sure at least once):
theDARK1/shaDowy soul/DARKside of the moon/a blackened heart
6. this contest will close the day after x-mas (december 26, 2003 and will be judged sometime over that weekend following x-mas).
i will make comments on every poem and i will speak my mind (not to offend anyone, but i will tell you if i don't like something). i have many projects usually going at once, just like i seem to have contests that overlap each other, but i like to stay busy.
the one thing i won't say on your entry is good luck in a contest held by me, however, i will wish you that on someone else's contest. i make sure everyone knows up front that i wish everyone good luck at the start. i hope you will have fun doing this contest. if you are not going to have fun participating, then why would you do it in the first place (i guess everyone would have there reasons, just hope itz for a pleasurable one).
now itz time to wish me a merry x-mas; 12 days style of course!

- Final notes: to date, this has been the most difficult contest to judge. there were 12 entries to this contest and due to some personal conflict, ME, an author withdrew her entry in this contest as well as any other contest she was in that i have may hosted. i won't have to mention her name, but for those who know the 'romance story' in my 'ap' life already know who it is. as she withdrew her entry, she took the first place poem out of the contest for it hit me the right way when i read it. but that changes everything now. once i read bertie's i knew that was probably going to be number one. she covered all the bases, but what she did was to mend the 'shadows' and my relationship (and i thought that was so nice that someone was still thinking of a way to show the shadow we still care). as for the remaining poems...i racked my brain and they were shuttled so many times in and out of the other two positions. there finally had to come a time to just end it. itz almost fair to say that 2d and 3rd ended up being like musical chairs. i wished i had about 7 trophies to pass out but i dont. so it will have to stand with 2d going to gypsydreamer and 3rd to samplette. these poems were great. i want you to know it was possible that you were in a trophy position at one time or another, however, you see how they ended up. i want to thank all of you for participating. i have been wanting to go to bed for awhile now, but never could decide for the longest time how the trophies were going to be awarded. but now i am about to collapse on the keyboard, so it ends now. thank you for participating.

Wow another contest. I am still a bit drained from the last one but I am sure that I will be able to pull up something before the day after Christmas. I will have to think long and hard as to the gitfts theDARK1 might like for Christmas. Interesting, very very interesting. O.k. now I fade make into the light of the mortal living.

This looks like fun and I'm not even Christian! Lol due to that fact, I don't know what the 12 originals are, so if I come up with something and my some random chance there's a duplicate..Don't hurt me ^.^

i wont hurt you and thanks for the compliment for my contest appearing to be fun...i would like to think any of my contests have always been that way. if you are extremely creative, i am sure you will not duplicate any of the original gifts for the days of x-mas.

actually, it does not matter what your traditions are since i'm not of this earth...i just know x-mas is celebrated all over the world in many different ways and wanted others help me celebrate. thank you for the interest and who knows, you might even be back to bring me presents...and if not, merry x-mas to you all the same.
