i know i said i was going to have a tougher contest than my last one...but there has been a change just like there has been in me. look below and study for a few seconds;
(You have 258, minimum is 250) Image for this contest
if you noticed that i have 258 points, then you know the relation for that specific number...thats how old i am and i am having a birthday!
lucky me, huh! who wants to date such an old man (actually, i can think of someone saying she didn't care how old i was--theDARK1 snickers).
i normally hold my contests when i reach 269 points so i can turn around to give them away. i do not promote my poetry in what AP calls the feature box. when i accumulate points, i try to give them away as soon as i can to start the cycle over again.
for all of those poets who want to enter a pre-written poem, that will be allowed in this birthday contest...as long as the other rules are met. i did say this contest would not be harder than the last, but did you seriously think i was going to make it super ez?
ok, all of you have been patient enough so lets get to the rules.
1. one wish per poet (so make it your best to me).
2. any style...i truly don't care how you put it together. (everyone has a chance to win with your own style, i am extremely objective regardless of style or who you are).
3. theDARK1 must be in the body of your poem at the minimum three times ('cuz itz my 3rd contest...it can be more than three, but not less than).
think i will end the requirements there with three rules since itz my third contest. if you have not noticed by now, i think of my contests on the spur of the moment (even though i have actually tried to think about my next contest, but i see now i need to put no thought into them and make them as i get the points to create one...it seems like they are much more appealing on a spontaneous moment, but i could be wrong).
i do wish everyone luck in this contest before hand. the more entries i have the tougher you make my job...so lets see how tough you guys want to be on me!
i will comment on every entry...just remember i do have to fight evil and sometimes that it takes a day or two or even weeks.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 16, 2003
- Rewards: Gold: 258
- Final notes:
first and foremost, i have to thank everyone for taking the time to wish me a happy birthday through an entry or some other way. i had no idea that so many would celebrate this day for me in so many ways. it proves that even mortals can love other beings. i think the martians can come out from hiding now, i think all of you will be more receptive than i had anticipated. actually, i have never met a martian, but i hear humans talk about them all of the time (the only reason why i thought they existed even though i have never seen them on mars, that's another story that will surprise you who does live on mars).
now let's get down to business!
i want to throw in a special thanks to Mini-Desire for a heartfelt birthday wish.
i would like to thank ferglesnerk for the entry: theDARK1? he proved to be a worthy challenger with his poem striking up a competition as my response in a comment form.
there was a tie for 1st place; Desire and ShadowedOne, however, i have to award the gold and silver to represent the tie...this will leave the second place winner actually taking the bronze trophy. ShadowedOne truly melted my blackened heart from the words that created her work (which also seems to be the reason why i feel like i am starting to mellow in my writing...who could have ever figured that a being from another world could be changed by a mere mortal). i must admit that mortals have a kindred spirit not matched by other lifeforms. the background was absolute superb by Desire as well as her working words.
if you think 1st was tough, awarding the 2nd place trophy (which is the bronze in this contest just because i say it is...i am theDARK1 so i guess i can do that--lol) had three contestants; cheeks, poetryality and TwiztedandAlone. i ended up giving the trophy to TwiztedandAlone, but was just to close to call with all three poems. each one unique in itz own way...all of you make it so tough!
now 3rd place, which there were no trophies to be handed out just like the second place winners did not receive one either (with one exception being awarded a bronze trophy), was Jelly, leannewales, meesa p, and Samplette.
if you noticed, everyone is in alphabetical order and not how the trophies were awarded but does not mean that your wish for me was not grateful or spectacular in itz own way.
final thoughts: i have had three contests now and i enjoy having them, but in all honesty do not enjoy trying to judge them. it would be so easy if i had only a couple of standout poets to enter and the others were so-so, but this is hardly the case when poets enter my contests. just think, i fight all types of evil that lurks in the night without any fear, but i stress out like a human when it comes to judging my contests! you mortals must be turning me into one of you (theDARK1 grins 'cuz he feels like itz so true). in this last contest, i did not contact everyone like i did for my second. i figured that i would let everyone find it like a surprise like that of a box of cracker jacks (that you humans seem to truly like). i still had double digit entries which impressed me so. i hope everyone knows that the next contest will be challenging with tough requirements when it happens. again, i will not notify anyone of the contest, but will wait in awe for the ones who seek such a challenge. i have no idea what it will be and won't until the points are available. every contest has been spur of the moment to include my birthday. i was not even going to let people know about my b-day and then the numbers matched (points and age) and i had no choice but to do it. so i thank everyone again for taking the time to celebrate it with me. i will buy everyone a round of 'moon fiz gin shots' which at 2000 proof, will cause you to moon walk!
...theDARK1 goes into the night and vanishes into the shaDows which is his disguise to help him fight evil!

I tried to enter your contest but the Cyber Dog ate it. I thought I had gotten rid of that intolerant dog. NOT! I'll try again tomorrow, I am really frustrated now!

thank you for the birthday wish...i just came from one of the entries in my contest which caused me to be creative in a rhyming scheme as a response to their entry...just think, they never even wished me happy birthday in the poem...but i do have a sense of humor (which i also stated to them, just hope they do to since i made a poetic response to their work). i think the moon will be on 'fire' monday night with all of those candles burning on my cake...hehehe!
