I think this is the first ever AP contest about horses, although I could be horribly, terribly, extremly wrong.

HORSES!!! This contest is for all you horse lovers out there!
First of all, RULES! (Yes, Horses rule!)
1) prewrites accepted
2) Enter as often as you want
3) No swearing or illegal stuff
4) Write any form
5) Try and keep it short. I don't have the time to read something that's 50 20-line stanzas long.
Next, the Horses!
1) You can write about any horses:
I) Merry-go-round horses,
II) Flying horses (Pegasus),
III) Palominos, Appalosas, Arabs, Zebras, ponies, Morgans, draft horses, any horses.
2) HINT: I love PALOMINO'S!!!!!
3) Don't write about race horses and racing. Using animals for copmetition and winning just sickens me.
Have fun! Write whatever! Just follow the rules!
Write about Legolas on a horse, if it is your hearts desire!

Now here's an example for y'all that I wrote:
The thunder rolls in distant mountains
As the eagle soars above,
The rocky slopes shudder softly
As the thunder echoes throughout.
The brewing storm gallops nearer
Although the sky is blue,
The world waits in anxious wonder
For the storm to crash through.
A wild snort, a toss of the head,
Announces the storm has come,
With thundering hooves and storming tempers
Twelve dozen horses rampage through.
The sun's rays catch the Palomino stallion
With golden body and silvery white mane,
His shiny black hooves tear up the ground
And his whinny bounces off the sky.
With mighty purpose he'll lead them on
To a grassier, safer place,
With a loud snort he gallops on
Untill the danger has passed.
The thunder rolls in distant mountains
As the eagle soars again,
The rocky slopes shudder softly
As the thunder passes.

Yeah I deffinetly have not seen a contest about horses as of yet. This is a really good idea. There are so many different horses and so much beauty to them that it would be very easy to write something beautiful about them. Good luck all/
