For people who make backgrounds...

I love the end 1800 begining 1900
I find it so romantic
Please make me backgrounds inspired from that time.
3 entries each if you wish.

My requirement make your background fairly easy to read on.

I would love nice work with lovely details on borders.

I would like this one to be a contest where we can exchange comments and help in how to improve our work.

I will add HMs as we go along.

Surprise me I know you can.

Thank you!

    Please tell me...

what is the best size to make a background to fit the page suitably?

And how did you get your text to indent and fit perfectly to your graphic.

    Many thanks in advance

It's not as easy as it looks, huh?

When I do a background I use different programs (cheap one like Serif photoplus X2, Serif Drawplus X3, and Serif pageplus 3) I always finish by using MS paint and in the width I chose 1235 pixels sometimes less (When you go through attributes you can decide the number of pixels in width and height) in height I use different dimensions between 150 to 900 pixels according to my need for every specific work, you can just adjust the height to your work bearing in mind it will be repeated many times as you need along your web page.
In this background the line is just above the lady bust hat. The width is 1235 pixels Not coming up fully on AP webpage old version
and the height is 760 pixels.
      I hope this will help.

Ok I missed the point for the indent you have to work on the cursor (when you download your backround on AP) through the cursor you can only go up to 200 width for the margin however you can change the number of the cursor delete it and put your own like 240 or 260 or more I think up to 300 is OK then edit and check if it is right you may have to try a few times to get it exactly right. Let me know if this answer your question.

Lol! As you can see I'm getting kinda hooked too :-)

I can think of worse addictions. It's only 4.18pm here in New Zealand...but I wouldn't like to bet I won't be here in the wee hours of the morning myself...the poetry's taken a backseat!

So true but at the same time it is a good alternative and very rewarding too. still now I'm going to bed and will do more tomorrow as I'll be stucked at home because the painters are coming to paint the bathroom.

            By the way...

I studied Graphic Design on all the industry-standard Adobe software, however I

            oops. hit wrong button

however I couldn't afford to buy Adobe myself, so bought Corel Draw. Then I bought a cheap version of Photoshop (Photoshop Elements) which is still fairly comprehensive

Long time ago I studied graphic desing and landscape gardening but not much use of computer graphics then but still the liking for design is there so I learned about those wonderful programs and learn more every time I play with them (use Serif i had a trial for Corel once but coulnd't buy it at the time) Take care got to sleep.

But I've found that my cheap programs

i.e. Jasc Paintshop Pro 8 (free with Corel Draw) works just as effectively!

I am finding it's all about the math here on AP - plus a little bit of trial and error.

By the way - I love your work, your images are nicely clean-cut and your use of effective elements like stitching is very creative. I might have some techniques up my sleeve but I struggle for graphic creativity...which is why I love poetry! Lol.

I use Serif Page plus 3 for the cut out it's very easy and excellent.
I think stiching is with Serif Photoplus or serif drawplus can't remember because I navigate all the time between programs.
              good night.
