For Our Golden Years Over 50...Holiday Memories

Happy Holiday Season!!
Doesn't it seem like the time passes faster as time goes by? Maybe it's just me but every year I seem to feel more and more like, "Didn't we just do this?" LOL
So what I want is memories of Holidays Past. Write in whatever genre you are most comfortable in and make me smile or cry. Or BOTH!!!
We need to educate the younger crowd in what we have seen in our lives, as we let them keep us up to date on the newest trends. Thats the beauty of getting older, people don't mind what you're dumb about and get a little chuckle at our ignorance.
AP rules apply.
Label accordingly (don't know if that is necessary to say or not)
Minimum of 10 lines 100 line maximum.
ArkBear will be helping me with this so you know I'll be fair. He will keep me honest.
Have fun with this and be sure to give credit to any pics you use.
**********It has been pointed out to me that not all here celebrate Thanksgiving or maybe do in different ways. So I thought it best to make it a "Holiday" contest instead. To those already entered, you may change yours or leave it as either way it would fit.**********

Had a peek at your contest, as I'm over fifty, and oh how time passes, and oh how golden memories are becoming, but as I'm an Aussie I'm not too clued in about Thanksgiving (sorry!) so have to give the contest a miss! Hope you get some wonderful entries.

        I don't understand it ...

I thought you'd get a slug of entries once you opened it to prewrites. It baffles me.
