Best Write of the Week - B-WOW #23
…..with Aboomer, Starz of Heaven and Islekine
Posts Friday ….Ends Thursday night.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued
support of our B-WOWs…and our first few Best
Write of the Month: B-WOM.
It is nice to see so many of you return week after week, and to see
so many new people… we enjoy getting to know you all
through your writing!
We appreciate all who have entered, and those
of you who have donated your points so generously,
to help keep these contests going…
Most people who donate points, wish to remain anonymous
we will, however mention you by name, if you so desire…
We have extended the contest…
…it will start on Friday and end the following Thursday evening.
This will give people more time to write their entry…and us more time to judge.
No silly rules, we just want to read good writes.
No adult - we’d like this open to all ages.
Any theme...topic....genre welcome...
We’d like to respect each person’s religion, so we ask if you write this genre, keep it to the spiritual tones only…..thanks…No bashing other's work or beliefs...please!
We look for creative themes, that make us say “wow” or ahhhh….or cry even! Imagery, alliteration,
and form are appreciated….and proper grammar and spelling are appreciated also!!!
Be creative with bg’s and pictures if you wish - just so we can read your font….lol
no line limits - but if doing a novel, please post that at StoryWrite…
If you ask for constructive critique, we will give you our honest “OPINIONS”…they will be OUR opinions only and will not reflect on your write other than suggestions for ways to improve…
We appreciate any points you may want to donate to help keep these contest going. We have a point
bank and all points donated are used for these contests only.
So - write what you wish, as you wish - use common sense, please
Thanks
Enjoy!

- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes:
Greetings!
First we would like to thank all of you for such wonderful creative entries again!
We look forward to seeing your talent return week after week…
And we enjoy getting to know a lot of new people …through their writing.
Congratulations to everyone this week! Great job!
Again this week , we used the point system…giving you each points depending
on where you were on the three lists…8 for Gold, Seven for Silver etc.
It is the fairest way we have found to judge these contests!
From time to time one or more of us, is not able to comment, but we do read your
poem at least twice, and discuss our favorites…and we all always vote.
We would like to once again thank everyone who donated points to keep our
contest going….If you enjoy the contests, and have a few “extra” points you
would like to throw our way…it would be greatly appreciated!
Looks like we will be posting on Friday and ending on
Thursday night. The last contest of the month will be B-WOM…Best write of
the month and points will increase…
We look forward to seeing all of you again! Thanks for sharing your time and
talents!
Be well…aboomer, Starz of Heaven, islekine

No Place in the World
there is no place in this world for a poet
a poet has no home in the hills or on the beaches
in vibrating crowds
in cozy homes
or beneath icy stars
there is no place in this world for the quiet longing
for the divine hunger
and haunted silence
reaching beyond peace
for an imminent almighty god
the voice of this world crushes meaning from the soul
as the thresher robs beets of all sugar
as time removes love of all but memory
shelterless
naked
destroyed
the desperate poet
can then only persevere
emerging beyond every failure
into the bright light of a god never worshipped
and true as blood -
Just wanted to check in to confirm that you'll be reading the poems again once the contest ends? I've been editing mine, and would like (if possible) to be judged by the final version when the contest ends.
