No religion bashing.
Other than that, I leave the rules loose, but know that I don't like obvious, or poorly constructed rhyme. Flashy backgrounds that make my eyes bleed, either.
I want hopeful poetry. I am starting to get depressed by the fact that winter is coming, and I don't celebrate holidays, so please no happy christmas, merry halloween, or thanksgiving poems. They will NOT make me feel hopeful.
I have other contests running on my page.
Here are some quotes I got from myspace sticker aps to inspire. You don't have to use the quotes for inspiration. I just want hopeful stuff, and that is a pretty broad description. These are here, just in case they might jumpstart a muse.
As we grow up, we learn that the one person who wasn't supposed to let us down probably will. You'll have your heart broken, more than once, and it gets harder, every time. You will break hearts too, so remember how it felt to have yours broken. You'll fight with your best friend, and maybe, even fall in love with them. You will blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and eventually you will lose someone close to you. So, take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you have never been hurt; because every 60 seconds you spend angry or upset, is a whole minute of happiness you can never get back.
Life is too short. Grudges are a perfect waste of happiness. Laugh when you can, and apologize when you should; and sometimes, even when you feel you shouldn't. Let go of what you cannot change. Love deeply, forgive quickly, take chances, and give your everything. Have no regrets. Life is too short to be anything but happy. You have to take the good with the bad, smile when you're sad, love what you've got, and remember what you've had. People change and things go wrong, but always remember, life must go on.
Someday, everything will all make perfect sense. So, for now, laugh at the confusion, smile through your tears, and keep reminding yourself that everything happens for a reason.
At this very moment, YOU can change the rest of your life.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
Hopeful, inspiring pieces only.
Get happy.
