Collaborations?

One of the things I hold most dear in my writing has been the collaborations I have done. As I seek to refire the creative ability, I wish to explore this art where one attempts to blend two voices seamlessly.

All I ask from each person who wishes to enter is an example of your writing, an original finished offering. In return I offer the few points I currently have, three trophies and the willingness to lend my pen to each author, after the contest ends.

Rules:

1. No chat speak etc..
2. Profanity only in context
3. Honest and sincere effort

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 13
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 150, Bronze: 125, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
Even though this contest got off to a bumpy start, it finished quite strong. There are some absolute powerful images in the offerings submitted by everyone. I have enjoyed returning each day only to find one strong poem after another.

The top two poems to me were categorically head and shoulders above all others. While the remainder had imagery, flow etc.., these were superbly crafted. My hat is off to the authors of the gold and silver.

The bronze winner spoke deeply in so many ways, Yet I felt it still could not compel itself any higher. However it is itself a fine composition. Well Done!

Those garnering an honorable mention are in no particular order. Each could just have easily won any contest on their own, but found themselves alongside much stronger poems, here.

The remaining ones are by no means the least of all. The selection of poetry to award is purely subjective, and I am aware of that. I try to keep that in mind as I judge, having a basis or all of my decisions.

I can only say to all of you, Well Done. I do look forward to working with each of you in a colaboration. I wil be contacting each of you accordingly after the results are posted.

Many thanks for your time, efforts and submissions. May the Great Spirit continue to walk alongside each of you. May your writing continue to flow, growing in it's strength as you do as well.

    Respectfully,
    PureCountry

Interesting since I have held a series of these contests myself, do you want something to work with or just a poem itself? I write in any style necessary to collaborate.

Just a poem itself to enter for the contest. Then a collaboration will follow between myself and any of the entrants who wish. I am somewhat familiar with your work, however I was unaware of your contests.

  • Does it have to be on the site? if so thats alright, i was just curious.

just so I'm sure I understand... you actually want us to submit a poem. You are going to judge the poems we submit, then invite the poets to collaborate with you in afterward?

Mam, I apologize if the purpose is not easily seen. Yes I wish to have entries from anyone in any form or voice they wish to write. Afterwards I will collaborate with any and all who choose to do so.

Collaborations to me are a challenge, to bring two voices together, previously alien to one another. I believe the creative energy released benefit both.

      Respectfully,
