I didn't really give much thought to this so will say no it's not expected. Now if you really want to challenge yourself go for it, lol. I cant wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Not all sonnets are Iambic Pentameter if you have a real problem writing in meter let me know and I'll point you to sonnets that are not reliant on meter.
