Hi Everyone
As of Wednesday 4th November, I will be going away for a while. I will be heading off to New Zealand with my fiance and getting married. I'll then be on my honeymoon and after that, in Australia until mid December.
When I return, I will not be living in London anymore, but moving down south to begin a fresh life.
I will have a new job, a new surname, a new journey. I am looking forward to seeing how this affects my poetry and the changes it makes to me as a person.
I will be on and off allpoetry during those weeks but it will be infrequent. When I log on I would love to read about your "changes" poetry.
I dont want you to write about change in general.
I want you to think of a change in your writing, in your poetry, and to tell me what caused it. Do you write differently now to how you did a year ago? If so, why is that?
I want to hear your stories of poetic inspiration and even how you came to become a writer.
I am looking forward to judging the contest while I am away.
This will probably go on longer than 2 weeks and so please take your time.
If I receive an entry today I will know you have rushed and it probably wont be your best write.
Enter only something that you feel is better than every other poem you have written.

Congrats Emmy!!! I don't have any real life-altering changes to speak of. Other than when I first came to ap several years back I wrote strictly rhyme. Once here, I encountered free verse for the first time, and fell in love. Therefore, changing my style. Best wishes with all your endeavors, and with the contest.

those things in themselves will be change. i mean... ive never been fulfilled happy or had a purpose but i can feel myself every day getting happier and gooey because I know i am going to solidify the only thing in my life worth more than gold.

Well, first
Congrats. Marriage might muff your muse for a while, but not to worry. It muffed mine for several years, but that's just me. It also brought a great change in the way I viewed life in general. I'll tell you all about it in a poem. Have fun, be safe. Don't hurry back, but please don't stay away long. -
I'm so very pleased for you, for this new beginning into a brand new life, for the many journeys that will be ahead of you both. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials and here's hoping the changes will only be bold, bright and beautiful. Thanks for hosting this one, Sweetie. aww.. you're heading my way! i'm sure you'll love australia's sunshine & beaches. make sure you make your way to WA's coral coast while you're here. it's definitely worth a trip if you'd like to try the lazy beach life & swim with the whales
