The Divine Face of Ecstasy...Semi-Quick quote/image prompt

The image is of Bernini's famous (and controversial) sculpture:
"The Ecstasy of St Teresa". Here is the quote that fell from Teresa's lips:
"...his great golden spear...filled with fire...
plunged into me several times...penetrated to my entrails
...a sweetness so extreme that one could not possibly wish it to stop."

THE RULES:

1. Please left align with visible fonts & unbusy backgrounds.
2. Write needs to be a minimum of nine lines.
3. Proper spelling, punctuation and vocabulary are asked for.
4. No cutting, suicide or self-hurt & no MOlesTIng your shift key.
5. Erotica is NOT porn; Sensual outpourings are sought here.
6. Free verse or not, it's up to you.

I am not catholic, in either my regard for artistic expression nor spiritual stance. The sexual ecstasy of saints, particularly women, in their experience of God is known. But, this is a challenge to express that feels as if it goes beyond my ability to evoke. I am going to have to think long and hard.
    Love,
    Tom B.

      I'm not either...
That is what I hope for. A gauntlet of tangible sensation to be explored
in words by an "outsider" as far as what can be had as literal.
No religious references would do this prompt justice unless they are
used outside of the lines. That you are intrigued brings me wide smiles.

I am both catholic, and a woman , and I love this sculpture. I wrote a piece about it (or Bernini, actually) a few months ago. My sensuous muse has locked herself in the closet and refuses to come out, so I may have to pass this one. A beautiful and inspiring tale is told in the Book of Saints, about Saint Theresa. She's my favorite saint.
Best to you in your contest, I know you'll get some wonderful writing here.
    love,
    jin
