Wedding wishes for my daughter

My beautiful daughter, Danielle, is getting married on Saturday November 14th at 3pm. Her fiancé is Thomas Murray.

They are employed in the Army National Guard and are in the same unit. They will both deploy on January 5th for Afghanistan and will be gone for a year.

Many of you know how proud I am of Danielle. She is actually my stepdaughter but I’ve raised her since she was age 7. Therefore, I consider her mine. She graduated from high school in 2008 and was in the top 10% of her class. She is currently attending college at Eastern Kentucky University.

What I want for this contest are wedding poems for Danielle and Thomas. If you had rather just write a paragraph wishing them luck that is fine as well.

I do ask that if you enter a pre-write you make sure it fits this contest and please change any names if you need to.

I AM NOT looking for just ANY love poems for this contest. They must be about her wedding and living happily ever after, etc.

All entries should be light and in good taste. You can even toss in some wedding day humor if you are so inclined. Please DO include God if you want to. Both Danielle and Thomas ARE religious.

I would appreciate you putting your name (NOT your user name) and any messages to them at the end of your entry. That way it will print with the poem whereas your author notes won’t.

PLEASE NO ADULT CONTENT OR CURSE WORDS.

I plan on printing these to give them so if you object then this contest isn’t for you.

Click on the link below if you want to see their engagement photos. If you want to use any of them in your entry feel free to do so. My daughter, Christina, works for Olen Mills studio and she took them.

Points are subject to change and this contest could close early.

You may enter as many times as you want.

If you have any questions please message me.

Thank you in advance for your entry.
Cathy

Your daughter is beautiful, I know you are so proud of her. I send my prayers that they will have the most wonderous day on their wedding day and live in a fairy tale happly ever after life

  • They deploy on my birthday? That kinda makes it a sad one again this year. I hate to see them go, but I know it's what they wanted to do. Otherwise they wouldn't have enlisted. I guess if they are gone for exactly a year, the next years birthday will be fantastic, cause they will get to come home. I'll make my birthday wish for them to come home safetly.
    Love you guys,
    Crystal

Yes they do Crystal and I think she told me that they should be home by Dad's birthday the next year. When they get back it will take a few weeks for them to get back to us because of debriefing or whatever they call it these days.

I hope you can find a minute to write something for them. I want to put these together in a scrapbook for their wedding day if I can manage it.
      Love you lots, Mom.
