I've come to you with yet another odd contest for your writing pleasure. The idea is simple, and I feel we will get some splendid work out of the deal.
Here's the plan:
Phase 1 - Open up your media player (or look at your cd/tape/vinyl/8-track collection) and pick 10 albums that either mean a lot to you, or have somehow made an impact on your life. Got them? OK, you may proceed.
Phase 2 - Write down the names of those ten albums and the artist of each. your list should look something like this:
All Ages - Bad Religion
Back to basics - Billy Bragg
Battle Hymns - The Suicide Machines
Dead Flowers, Bottles, Bluegrass and Bones - Swingin Utters
Deconstructed - Bush
etc.
(Please don't use my list, this is about the music that influences you)
Phase 3 - Paste said list in your author's note.
Phase 4 - Use the ten album titles in your list as word bank words. Please keep phrases together. And signify your words in your poem with italics, bold, or some way.
Mine may sound something like:
"Sunday morning sings a song,
like battle hymns that never end,
they shatter like deconstructed discotheques
that take men of all ages back to basics
and they swell in gutters of dead flowers,
bottles, bluegrass and bones."
Phase 5 - please make sure to check your spelling.
I will comment on each entry, and prizes may go up if I get real quality entries.
Have fun and be clever.

A few of the pieces have artists as inspirations that I have not ever heard of, so I will be looking into those artists.
Thanks again to all who entered.

Thank you, very much. I hope you enjoy the music of those who featured in my piece. I highly recommend Paradise Lost, and their albums In Requiem and Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us. Awesome.
Yours,
Kain
