Do You Know Me?

Lately, I've been picking random people and reading a few of their poems to try and figure out who they are strictly by their writings. So far, it seems like I've been able to pick out a few qualities, values, etc...

I would like to know if I reflect myself in my own poems. Personally, I don't think I do, but my mother has been able to justify that I put a lot of myself in my poems even if it's unintentional.

For this contest I would like for you to read any 2 of my poems or stories and write either a paragraph or poem about who you think I am as a person. You can use anything on my allpoetry account to help you: my "my page" (or whatever you call it), my poems, stories, etc... Just try to figure out who I am.

***Warning! Some of my poems are not very good. And some are just stupid. Ok, you have been warned. Now proceed.

Rules:
1) Put the title of my two poems or stories you read in the author’s notes so I know how you got the answer.
2) Heads up! If I do not get at least 15 entries I will delete the contest.
3) No more that 30 lines. Even if it's 31 lines, I will delete it.
4) The winner is not based off of writing skills. It’s based on who described me best.
5) Anna Ruth cannot enter. (Sorry! You know too much!)

[[Just so I don't get any nasty comments about this contest topic - I'm not being self-centered, and this is not just an excuse to have a contest about me. I'm trying to find out if I am putting enough of myself into my work.]]

Contest is Over

  • Final notes:
Oh gosh. I though I ended this a few days ago? ...maybe I just sent the message out...ooppss...well I just checked and I had this really long message about who I am but it never sent. I can't really write it all again, but if you have any questions I would love to answer them! Sorry about taking so long to judge, and sorry you don't get the huge message I was going to send. But you can go to http://allpoetry.com/poem/5892073 and it tells 50 random facts about me.

I will definitely be back. Ironically someone removed me from ALL their contests because they had a " Do you know me Contest" And I told them I figured out the answers from their poetry page(in AN because I thought they should know) They were offended by that, but obviously you won't be. Might see some comments from me too.

    Haha, love your fifth rule!

Question: do you want a poem or just a paragraph?

This sounds like an interesting contest.

We all, alas, do put "a lot of ourselves" into our poems. The trick - and this is one of the things that separates the amateur-hobby poet from the committed professional - is to learn how to conceal that fact, so that even if one is writing about an experience that most of your readers are unlikely to have had themselves, they will still sense and relish the essential "truth" of the poem.

I just wanted to say that for some reason the poetry I write the best ( other people's opinions) normally has absolutely nothing to do with me. Such as, a lot of my poems are about hate and darkness and I don't possess either quality. At least I don't think so. When I try to write about me or my life, I find myself lost.
So, I guess if you read my poetry you would think I was a completely different person.
