Each day I awake I am so thankful for the freedom I enjoy. Even though lately it seems some are trying to take so much away. I am still proud to be an American and so very proud of those men and women who serve and have served. We can not thank them enough. The holidays are coming and so many will be around the world away from family and friends. I would like poems about the troops. Anything that you want, missing someone, thanking them or just how proud you are of our troops to support them, but make it positive please. I look forward to reading some wonderful and heartfelt poetry. God Bless our troops and those of our allies too.
Here are links to thank them yourself.. Please take the time during the coming holiday season to let them know how much they are appreciated. Thank you. Sandy

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 6
- Rewards: Gold: 1400, Silver: 700, Bronze: 450, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: I am sorry it took so long to judge. I have not been on for a few reasons. I want to thank all who entered to honor our wonderful and brave troops and our allies troops. The deaths at Fort Hood yesterday saddens my heart. They sacrifice so much. God bless the friends and families who lost loved ones. May you find peace in the Lord.
The honorable mentions are in no particular order. Each poem touched my heart. Bless you. Sandy

I like the idea of this.. too bad you don't have prewrites open. I think my poem Please Remember or Here in Heaven would work for it. But I am going to challenge myself to come up with something new. I'll book mark it.

Thanks for hosting this Sandy. It's the second one I've seen today. Good luck.

You always seem to go out of your way to do something nice for just about everyone. This one touched me however because I serve for the United States Air Force, and I will be away from my family for at least another year, so I will not be home for the holidays. Thanks so much for your consideration. I know I, among so many others are very grateful.
