Military Muse

Another contest everyone.

I am a staunch supporter of our Miltary and honor them all,
both past and present.
In this contest I would like you to write a piece showing the men and women

that

you are thinking of them and that they are not forgotten.

Show the members serving abroad that the people at home do care.

They need to know this, so let us all show them how much they are appreciated!

There are no hard and fast rules, just be respectful.

If you can't be respectful,
don't enter as I will disqualify immediately.

I won't tolerate any disrespect
whatsoever.

I will add points as we go and reserve the right to extend the contest if
neccesary.

Any type of poem will be acceptable.

* (Many thanks go to Silent Cougar who added 1200 points especially

towards this contest for you all
Thank you, Silent Cougar.

* (Many thanks go to Whispering Wind who added 1200 points especially

for the contest for you all)
Thank you, Whispering Wind.

In honor of all the Military....God bless them.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 31
  • Rewards: Gold: 3000, Silver: 1000, Bronze: 350, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
A great finish to the contest with really awesome entries that showed the true spirit of the moment. It is great to know that so many can put into words here for the soldiers their thoughts and thank them in a small yet deserving way. Every piece was a brilliant piece in its own right and I thank you all very sincerely for entering. Don't forget that the 11th of the 11th is almost upon us so do remember to take a moment to pause in memory of all who have fallen. To all the winners, I say a big thank you and congratulate you on your wins.

Oh, I'm sorry. I know how tough it is. But they chose to do it for us, so that we wouldn't have to, so that we can live our lives in the peace and prosperity that we know. They did so with no personal intentions, they did so for the rest of us... its what makes them heroes.

That is a wonderful thing to hear. I neither can do so but that doesn't mean we can't be there for them and be part of their lives. Bless you, my friend and stay safe.

thank you for the show of support. I'm in the Army and returned from a year-long deployment to Korea in May. It's always nice to see that people care about what we do and the sacrifices we make.

May I enter a poem from the military point of view? Not a "we support you" poem, but one about what we do and what we sacrifice?
