Contest Naka Pillman -- The Star in the Middle by myrataal

Foto: Myra Lochner -- Sharing Twilight: Naka and KittieKat

Welcome to my Naka Pillman contest! As I rarely host contests -- this is only my second one -- I ask you to please consider entering, for this is a special contest for me. Thank you for taking the time to read!

You may enter in any genre, reflecting your own voice. I wish to have a layered contest with different perspectives. Hint: Naka loves humor! But, she is also a deep soul who appreciates philosophical thoughts ...

A few guidelines:

* Please read the poetry and stories in my list about Naka Pillman at http://allpoetry.com/list/69375-Love--Naka

* Please comment on at least two of the poems/narratives in the list.

* Submit a poem, short short story or poetic prose, inspired by Naka, or any aspect of her life.

* Prewritten poems allowed, but ONLY if dedicated to Naka for this contest!

* All submissions should be inspiring and suitable to be published in a little booklet, that I want to gift to Naka for Christmas.

Enjoy!

UPDATE: I shall judge this contest on November 15, 2009 -- Thank you all who were inspired by the Naka Pillman stories. I hope to get a few more entries, for I want to gift the poems earlier to Naka, on her birthday, November 23, 2009.

Much Love to you all, Poets.

  • Final notes:
    Dear Poets:

I thoroughly enjoyed reading your dedications to Naka Pillman. She is much like me: when I shared the submissions with her, she refused to judge! They were all beautiful to her. I truly share her sentiments. Thank you so much for every single entry. I wish I could have gifted you all with gold!

If there is anyone of you who feel like hosting a contest of this kind, please talk to me and I shall donate you the points to do so.

I hope this contest inspired you to look around you in order to find poetry in the lives of others within your immediate vicinity. Naka touched me with her humor, her endurance and her example of patience and of endless love. She is an example to us all!

Bronze: In a Little Patch of Darkness

I can't enter at this time, but want you to know I found all your stories and poem of Naka so very beautiful; as beautiful is your love for this older woman. I suspect you are both fortunate to be in each other's lives! Lita

      Thank you so much, Lita!

If you google Naka Pillman, you may find how versatile a writer she is! She is not even aware WHO is publishing and selling her books, neither does she care. Money is the last thing she is thinking of. Her life was dedicated to exact research and she did not waste time on sorrow. As you know. we can all learn from her!

Love to you, Lita. Love your name.

    Only one entry per poet!

I just found out this rule when my previously submitted poem was deleted and the newer one replaced it. jy
