It's funny that you say no cussing. Write about rape, about the most horrid time of your life, but don't be obscene whatever you do! >.>

Sorry, there isn't a way to fix it. However everyone may have their own way of dealing with it.

    peace

  • I thought the same thing about the "no cussing" rule. All that post-rape rage and we can't curse? What the #@&%???

Anyone here who has written about being raped and hasn't been to the police should do.

What a sad blight on society when such a tragic event should be used as a poetry contest.

    You should be ashamed.

I'm sorry but it isn't that black and white. Could you imagine going to the police station and reporting something like this? If you didn't report it stright away...how do you make your case? You have no evidence. I do believe that people who do this sort of thing need to rot in jail but sometimes the process of this is just as bad as the incident, sometimes worse. I do agree with you, I just thought I might bring this to your attention...

As for it being used in a contest...I think it's a good idea...i just think it was worded incorrectly. I was very shocked at what I read when I opened up this contest, however I believe the intentions behind it were pure. Having a contest where you can let out how you are feeling about something, no matter what it is, it is good in my books. Sometimes you just need that release.

      peace,
      mara

I did report what happened to me, but I reported it 4 months after when I found out the same guy raped a 13 year old. If I had reported what happened to me that would have never happened.

You can't live your life feeling guilty that you didn't report it sooner. You arn't responsible for any other's he did it to. You can't protect everyone. Please don't let this guilt take over you. It NEVER should have happened to you and you can't take the blame or guilt from him and put it onto yourself. It wasn't your fault. You have reported it now, potentionally saving others...just think of it this way. How many have you now potentionally saved? If he's done it twice that you know of, he would have reoffended. You have already protected his next victims. Please don't bring yourself down over those he already got to. You are worth more then that...truely.

          May peace be with you,
          mara
