Ian Wallace, famous in many parts of the world for singing Flanders and Swann, and Gilbert and Sullivan songs has died aged 90.



I'd like you to be inspired by any of the Flanders and Swann songs he loved, The Hippopotamus song being the most famous.

    I'm working on Have Some Madeira M'dear but I'm trying to match the rhythm and rhyme and it ain't easy.. Maybe I'll try I'm a Gnu instead. I'm lucky I have a book with several of their songs eg The Gasman cometh etc in it.

      Anything you think reminiscent of the songs that made him famous

      He sang all the comic animal songs written by "Flanders and Swann" as well as many of their other songs, you can find most of them on the web, he was also very fond of Gilbert and Sullivan so see if you can emulate any of Gilbert's work.
