      usually it doesn't inspire me either, but i've found that if i just leave a song playing on repeat quietly in the background, i end up writing something that sounds a lot like how the song makes me feel.

        sometimes i do that but its songs with no words . or just instrumental, i find the melody can give me certain feelings.
