All right, everyone. I'm hosting another contest. It is the same as the past six or seven contests I've hosted before, but for those of you who are new to my style, here is how I host:
Below is a list of fifty prompts, each of them a quote from the specified song. I would like for you, the poet, to take one prompt and write a poem on it. Now, when I say write a poem on the prompt, be creative! However, I want the whole prompt to be applicable to the poem. This does not mean go to your prewrites and pick out a poem that maybe sort of might have the same theme. No! I want the poem to have all the key aspects of the prompt. You're more likely to get the medal if you read the directions.
I'm limiting the entries to three per person. Please, if you do enter three poems, try to make at least one original. Show me you're not just here for the points or the pride of winning the award. Show me you're here for inspiration and to write.
I will comment on every entry, and I will give a thorough comment, so if you enter, expect at least three paragraphs on the poem you have submitted. However, I will critique it, so do not enter your poem if your touchy about your writing. I will tell you what I like, love, and what I dislike as well. Don't take what I say to heart, it is merely a suggestion, but do... consider it. I like well-rounded poems. I like poetry that uses poetic device. I do have a bias against rhyme, but that is because most people lock themselves into rhyme. If you think you can rhyme without making it roll off the tongue like a techno beat -- please enter it. However, know I may bit a bit more critical of it. If you want to know more about what I like and dislike, go to my other contests, check out the winners there and read their poetry. There is good reason behind why they won.
Now, if you bothered to read all that jibberish, here are the prompts:
