times new roman *because calligraphy is cliche*

and he asked me why i typed my poetry in times new roman. "because. calligraphy is so cliche. i am elegance without frills. i am poetry without formatting. i am life without strings."

bam. wam. wow me. winner takes all. i want brilliance. points will sky-rocket if i like what i get. not sure when this will end.

i like prose and freeverse. mostly prose.
metaphor and imagery.
give me cliche and i give you laughter.
emo doesn't fly with me.

impress me. write about life without cliches or complications. write about being in love. write about running from drama. write about the ways that you as a poet make your words into quotes. i doubt it's through calligraphy...

break my rules and you'd better do a damn good job of it.

go.

tell.
me.
a.
story.

  1. and there were all those days I sat and wondered why the world couldn't comprehend the simplicity of breathing and loving and dancing and screaming just for the fun of shattering the atmosphere and waiting for the reverb.

  2. She was simple and unadorned; a stylistic set laboriously penned by loving hands. Beautiful in His eyes, perhaps; but jane was plain in the eyes of little boys; who thought that C major was a melodic slut; so easy to play.

random thought that came into my my head. i couldn't really write a poem around it (writer's block is so cruel) at least not yet. so i wanted to see what others could do.

Times New Roman is cliche, in the type world. Most common fonts:
    Arial
    Courier
Times New Roman, or any other form of Times.

You want elegant? Try Palatino Linotype. Yes, there is a difference.

Real calligraphy is beautiful. The kind done by hand, that is.

      My favorite font: Zephyr
I think we've talked at length on this, Joyce
      but you're so right.

For my playwriting class, everything has to be done in Courier New. x.x

        Gag me with a spoon!

Courier is a monospace font. Every character "sits on" the same width. Yup.A lowercase m is squished while a lowercase i and l look -- yup, you got it. SPACY
