Ever since my son died two years ago Monarch butterflies are seen everywhere I go. It was never like that before he died, so they have a special meaning to me. and my daughter. She is the one who started noticing them everywhere we go. I truly believe they are a sign from God that Brian is fine and happy. My faith has seen me through so much the past two years.
My dear friend Katie suggested I hold a contest about butterflies and so here it is. So what I want are poems that include butterflies in some way. They can be happy, sad, spiritual, nature, about love or even funny. Where ever the thought of butterflies takes your mind wandering. Now get fluttering and write. I look forward to some wonderful poems.Sandy

I am so sorry for your loss.

My best friend passed away 14 years ago and shortly thereafter I started to notice butterflies, many of them and when I would go for a walk, they would come close and even land on my shoulder.
Recently, I have had a dramatic change in my life and once again, I have started to see them more, especially yellow ones, and I was thinking one day, if my friend was a butterfly, he would be a yellow one
I am sure that he is letting me know he is here and alright and I am sure that your son is doing the exact same thing.
I have had many unexplainable things happen, butterflies being one of them, so embrace that gift that your angel brings to you. I will be back for this one...

My condolences on your loss. You might like this picture of butterflies; I've used it a few times and you're welcome to it, as well. My late sister still sends me butterflies, too. They bring a message of peace, I think. The night of her service, I drew a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, then changing into an angel. Good luck to all who enter.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Butterflies are one of the most common After Death Communications written about. I absolutely believe that your son will always be with you, and that God is why it's possible. There's a wonderful online grief support group ca

I am sorry you lost your son
My grandmother collected owls. Wood owls glass owls just about anything involving owls. She loved owls. When she died of cancer an owl landed on our porch in the middle of the day and just sat there for hours. I swear to this day that was my grandmother saying goodbye. I can relate to your story and believe your son is an angel watching over you and the butterflies are a sign for you. God bless -

It was a pleasure to read about your grandmother. I collected owls many years ago too. All kinds like your gram. That must have touched your heart when the owl landed. Thank you for sharing your beautiful story. Take care, Sandy

My condolences on your loss ...
however I'm not up to writing anything just now.
I also already have a poem about a Monarch butterfly, and I rarely write more than one poem on any given subject of that nature.
Good luck with your contest in any case. -

Thank you Sandy for the gold.
haven't been on here too much lately because i am not doing so well at present.
You said my poem touched your heart, well i can tell you that when i read your story about the loss of brian you touched my heart! I thought of how painful that could be and i asked my angels to stand behind me when i wrote this poem, i asked them to ask your son what you would like.. so in the end this poem came in about fifteen minutes.
I hope you keep seeing those butterflies, i see them also and always find feathers in the most unexpected places.
God bless
Dolores, Aka Lady Ireland. xx
