DO NOT REPLY TO ANY OF MY COMMENTS ON YOUR POETRY SO AS TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS! THIS INCLUDES APPLAUSE OR RATINGS TO THE COMMENT BECAUSE THEY REVEAL YOUR NAME!
This is a different contest than what I have been running. My ultimate goal in life is to make people aware of Child Abuse. Not just the Abuse, but the life long Effects of Child Abuse. So many people can say, "Oh, I know," but do they really? I don't think so. You really can't know unless you have been through it and for me, to be honest, I am tired of people's BS lines, "It happened so long ago..., Let it Go, Move On Already," so on and so forth.
So... What I am asking for this contest ( I know it is not easy) for you, that have been abused to let people know what it is like. Both the Abuse and the Long Term Effects. What has it done to you? For me ( I am an Abuse Survivor of all kinds) I suffer from Multiple Personalty Disorder, now called DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). In fact, lilangelsnemesis is one of my Identities. I do have another on this site.
These are your options:
#1 If you have suffered abuse use this contest as a therapeutic outlet and let others see what has been done and how it has affected you.
#2 If you have not been abused try to get into the mind of the abused and write about it and what affects you may think it might have.
#3 Write about what you would tell a person who has been abused if they were to confront you with it. ( There is only one this an Abuse Survivor needs and I want to see if you know what it is)
I have a poem I wrote myself if you would like to read it to get an idea of what I am looking for:

You are not required to read it or comment on it. Everyone has their own style of writing, I understand that. This is just a prompt in case you are lost as to what to say.
Rules (Sorry we need some here)
1.) I do not want to limit your writing because I want it to be raw and emotional but please try to keep it as clean as possible. Describe it using metaphors if you want so as to avoid direct graphics.
2.) Swearing is allowed in this contest. I understand the anger!
3) Do not bash another contest entry this is a very sensitive issue.
4) Feel free to read other entries and possibly try to be supportive. A support group is crucial to the recovery of an Abuse Survivor. ( Optional)
5) ( A DEFINITE MUST) However will not be judged in this contest. If you suspect a child is being abused immediately call your local Social Services or an Abuse Hot line
6) If need be pleas put your entry under the ADULT category
***Just A Reminder** Abuse is not limited to Physical or Sexual abuse, Emotional Abuse is just as damaging. Living with Addictive Parents, or Absentee Parents is also just as damaging.
AGAIN! DO NOT REPLY TO MY COMMENTS ON YOUR POETRY SO AS TO REMAIN ANONYMOUS! THIS INCLUDES APPLAUSE OR RATINGS TO THE COMMENT BECAUSE IT GIVES ME YOUR NAME!
***NOTE*** I apologize! This contest was not meant to enter pre-writes. However, the ones that are already entered I will accept since this was my error!

My poem is a prayer for my friends. Does that qualify?
-
-
Yes...
your submission counts. It falls under how you would support someone you know that was abused. -
-
Okay, the only reason I was asking because yesterday you allowed prewritten poems. Now you don't so nvm.
-
-
I apologize. I forgot to turn off the pre-writes. Usually, it is automatic but for some reason this time it was not. However, since you already had a poem ready before I turned it off I will reopen it for you so you can enter your entry. That is only fair I think.

Ok...
It is open to pre-writes again so you can submit your piece.

Thankyou!
Thankyou for hosting this contest and for allowing me to share my story with you and others like me, I'm honoured to receive 2nd place, but the reward was being able to tell others my story.
Thankyou for reading.
