For Your Mother and For My Mother

My mother's birthday is tomorrow and for the past few weeks I have desperately been trying to write a poem for her. I am on major writer's block... I am sorry the prize cannot be more but at the moment I am just looking for some writes I can put together for her. Prewrites welcome as they apply. This can be for your own mother, or you can write it for mine: Whichever you wish. No profanity or erotica. Check your spelling please! Fix your grammar, if you don't I will...
Again I apologize this cannot be worth more but I'll take donations and you are welcome to write up to ten poems on this topic.

Thank you and good luck!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 13
  • Rewards: Gold: 460, Silver: 250, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
I was extremely pleased to see how many entries were coming in. It was just the right amount for my busy day. You all did exceptionally well, and I wish I could have had more finalists! Thank you all for entering, this was such a great contest to judge. Everyone inspired me and I was able to write my own poem for my mother last week.

I loved the diversity in your writes: some were not even about a person's mother but the application was well the same.

I wish to thank the donation givers!
200 points were each added from two members. I wish to keep them anonymous.

Gold - How My Mother Died:
I chose this because the writer used rhyme. Their touch of imagery, pain, and truth was remarkably written in their words. Obviously, a lot of work was put into this prewritten dedication.

    Silver - Mother:
Touching, heartfelt, beautiful. All the things silver should be. Marvelously written, not one grammar error. Greatful for childhood, true for many. I wish to say more, but what else can I say? Simply, a nice devotion.

    Bronze - My Queen:
It was a sad but tranquil write. Enjoyed every word, and I wished to make it bronze merely for the happiness it gave me. Although not what I would have wished for grammar and spelling, it was beautiful.

Thank you all for your wonderful poetry!

    - Caroline
